The new tadc episode
for @white-dandelion-seeds and @oakfarmer12 who wanted Cottontail and Toastbats respectively so I present both:
Archer is sick to his stomach as he shoulders open the door of his house, a fashionable two story colonial that makes his friends’ parents jealous. He tosses his backpack on the couch and slumps over to the fridge. There’s the usuals in there: sandwich fixings and fruit and cheese, just for him, but he decides he isn’t very hungry.
He meanders back over to the couch and sinks down into it, curling his knees to his chest. It’s been a lousy day.
“Meow?”
Archer looks up and gives a weak smile. The family cat (well, ghost cat), Cottontail, is blinking up at him. Her translucent form shimmers in the afternoon sun and he reaches out a hand to give her a pet, or at least pass his fingertips through the spot of cold where her ears are. She gets the point, and purrs.
“Bat pile?” he asks her. The cat lifts her nose happily. “Alright.”
He throws his head back and shouts. “Bat pile!”
A door slams somewhere above him, and the chandelier overhead shakes, and one of the kitchen cabinets flies open, and footsteps can be heard on the stairs and Archer laughs, because to the outside observer his house would absolutely seem haunted. But it’s not, as evidenced by his mother hurrying into the living room, and four black bats practically slamming into him from all directions. His father’s away, or he’d be here too.
“Bad day?” his mother fusses affectionately, running her cool hands through his hair.
“Well, it was,” he says, grinning as his siblings materialize next to him, Willow wrapping him in her biggest sisterly hug, Ash nudging his shoulder, and the twins already having lost interest in the snuggle pile, tumbling to the floor to roughhouse. Cottontail flicks her tail in amusement. “But it’s better now.”

OK story time. You guys know those pop vinyl figures? I had a dream the other night that i had two different Jon Snows, a spiderman, and a deadpool and when i wasn't around the spidey and DP would escape their packaging and break shit in my room. I had to let the two jon snows out to capture them and then i thanked them by buying a ned stark figurine. The moral of this story? I should stop Tumblring before bed.
Who could have guessed that something so simple could have ever been so destructive?
I guess we didn't know how fruitful our mistakes could be, or how dangerous our words, or how poisonous our tongues, or how treacherous our departure.
Who could have guessed that something so short could have ever left such an impact?
You told me once that it's okay to write poems that no one understands. It's like a secret inside joke and only you get the punch line. Holding me closer than close, you'd wipe every tear and kiss its empty place like a goodbye, telling me to part with each worry and every single doubt. "Never write like it's an apology," you whispered to me from within our fort of blankets, pillows, and limbs, "even if it's to me."
ooc: My mom always complains when I play metal music in the car calling it 'angry music' and me and my dad joke about it all the time so I just made a CD for the car called "Angry Music! GRRRRRrrrRR"
