special agent!caitlyn x assassin!reader (killing eve au) moodboard because it’s been rattling around in my head for days but i have no time to write for it right now
how it feels to be lukewarm about arcane season 2 still 😭😭
not sure if this is weird to ask but do you have any bollywood movies you love that you would recommend?
not weird at all, thank u for asking!! in all honesty, i don’t watch too much bollywood/stick to the same genres within it and have forgotten most of what i watched as a kid (i think i listen to the music more than i watch the movies too), but here’s a few (most will be period pieces and older films);
umrao jaan (1981) is my absolute fav, i’ve heard it be called “poetry on screen” and that rings so true. stunning cinematography, costuming and music but also amazing story. it’s melancholic but also somewhat hopeful?? rekha is also one of my favourite actresses to exist, so there’s that too
gonna have to recommend all of sanjay leela bhansali’s movies. king of bollywood period pieces!! bajirao mastani (2015) was the first one i watched at like 13 and it blew me away with the meticulous detail gone into the costuming and choreography and it changed me as a person (deewani mastani will forever be a favourite song/mv oml 😭🫶🏼). but honestly, watch devdas (2002) first! it’s the most visually stunning and most iconic and will give u an insight into what his other movies are like!! the actors he chooses are always superb too (well… maybe besides heeramandi…)
any movie featuring shah rukh khan and kajol as love interests bc their chemistry is insane (sooo many ppl ik thought they were married irl as kids, i did too!) i think everyone watched khabhi khushi kabhie gham (2001) as a kid so it’s a good one to start with. i also liked dilwale dulhania le jayenge (1995), though i don’t remember much about it and am just now rewatching it in my adulthood
i rave about this movie so much but jodhaa akbar (2008) is my favourite movie ever. the music, the political intrigue, the romance… if you’re interested in the mughal empire, this is a movie for u
if you’re queer (specifically lesbian or wlw) u should watch ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga (2019). not as visually stunning or musically great as the others i’ve mentioned but it’s so so important to me, and it took big steps towards lgbtqia+ representation in south asian cinema
i recently watched bulbbul (2020) and wow… it’s so powerful. if u like horror done in a feminist lens, this one is definitely for u (just look up trigger warnings first!)
if you’re looking for old bollywood, pakeezah (1972) is a must watch. paved the way tbh and meena kumari was an ethereal and extremely talented actress/poetess (if u get a chance, u should listen to her poetry too). i think the soundtrack, besides umrao jaan, is one of my favourites on this list!
sorry this is so long 😭😭 again, i’m not the best person to ask this bc i have such a limited scope of what i like but these are all ones that resonated with me, touched something within me or that i felt nostalgic abt. if u do end up watching any, i’d love to hear ur thoughts 🫶🏼 also pls remember to look up warnings bc some of these deal with some heavy topics!
thank u jeff buckley, god of yearning 🙏🏼
this is what it feels like to work in any type of customer service job
hello hello!! the gifset you just reblogged of "little forest" was so so gorgeous, it prompted me to go read a bit about it and throw it in my watchlist so i was thinking like...this is exactly the thing i need. and now im wonderingggg do you have any more recommendations of movies like that, greenery, healing...all that beautifulness??? 💚💚💚
hi pluto, this is such a nice question!! i had to consult my letterboxd for this and they’re not exact vibes but here’s some (i think majority are japanese):
there’s japanese versions of little forest that i haven’t watched yet!! they’re the most similar in vibes i would say. i think there’s two called summer/autumn and winter/spring.
i’m lumping these two together because they’re from the same director. hana & alice (2004) and april story (1998). i feel like april story is a more quiet, tender story though, and the nature feels like a secondary character, but hana & alice is more lighthearted and funny. shunji iwai’s movies always use nature so well
moe no suzaku (1997). this one is kind of really sad, but the nature is the one thing i noticed the most, and even though it’s such a sad story it has this serene quality to it because of the setting. probably look up warnings though 😭
one million yen girl (2008)!!! this one is also a little sad but it feels hopeful too. it has a lot to do with nature as the main character moves from place to place, and a lot to do with personal growth as well
this one is less calm i guess, but i’m gonna throw pride and prejudice (2005) in here because i was rewatching it the other day and the use of nature in that movie is so beautiful
anddd this one is more of an honorary recommendation because i haven’t actually gotten around to watching much but i would also definitely recommend iranian cinema and directors like abbas kiarostami. every time i see shots of his films, it’s soul-touching and bursting with nature. here’s a shot from the wind will carry us (1999). so breathtaking
that’s all, i think, i hope u enjoy if u watch any <3
things i’m working on;
a/n: i have no idea when most of these will be out specifically but the semester is ending and i can’t wait to write as much as i can next week onwards! all are subject to slight changes and of course, all will be 18+. minors do not interact.
an embrace of thorns ch. 2: usurper | knight!abby x princess!reader
the aftermath of your crimes, in which abigail is imprisoned for taking the blame. you want to let what passed between the both of you to rot, but guilt gnaws at your aching bones…
vampire!abby headcanons
for halloween so this will probably come out in the coming days! inspired by carmilla and dracula. haunting, gothic and romantic.
coffee smell and lilac skin | bartender!ellie x rich fem!reader
ellie knows the patrons are off-limits, yet she finds herself engulfed in the thought of you. with your fire-lit gaze and the hollow tap of your manicured nails, she finds the walls of mere fantasy being chipped away. rules were made to be broken, right?
smutty!!! heavily inspired by the song everybody here wants you by jeff buckley
red wine supernova | dina
for my fellow awkward fems who get flustered when a pretty girl talks to them. i’ve only written points for this one but think sexually charged glances, lipstick stains on skimpy satin tops and press-on nails
obviously inspired by red wine supernova by chappell roan lol (one of the only 3 songs ik by her but it’s so catchy🫶🏼)
heavenbloom theatre | abby, dina, ellie
a series of oneshots based on my favourite films!!! this one will take me a long time, but i’m so excited to do it. i’m still deciding on some of the films but at the moment i have started an in the mood for love (2000) one for abby and a bound (1996) one for ellie. thinking of covering a dramatic bollywood period piece and maybe a slow, dreamy japanese film too, but these aren’t set in stone. more info to come💛
