I'm beginning the process of showcasing W.I.P.s that I've been wanting to finish forever, however time has passed by to where these have gathered dust for a year or more, ensuring they'll never be finished.
But I still love the ideas and the varying levels of effort that went into them, so I've decided to show what has been written coupled with author notes to explain the idea futher and the thought process alongside it.

Ship: Isaac/Arthur. It's there but you can squint it away.
Document Title: 'Isaac arthur beta'
『• • • ✎ • • •』
Settled on Arthur's lounge, legs thrown over the writer's, Isaac read over the latest manuscript Arthur had completed.
While the writer's thumbs drumming on his knees wasn't enough to break his immersion, beginning a new page and meeting Arthur's gaze briefly was.
Isaac honestly had no idea why Arthur wanted his opinion so badly. He wasn't one to casually read fiction, mind too preoccupied with whatever he was researching at the moment, but once the two of them became entangled and slowly opening up, Isaac became one of Arthur's few early readers.
Once he finished the new short story, he folded the papers in his lap, fiddling with the corners.
"Well?" Arthur's tapping on his knees stopped, his tone breezy as he gave Isaac a smile.
This was another reason Isaac was so unsure why Arthur asked him to do this: compliments from Isaac were always so awkward, and often sounded…poorly. No matter the intentions he had.
"It was...Good. The quality hasn't gone down."
"Well, I sure hope it hasn't!" Arthur laughed, using Isaac's knees to prop an elbow on, "Go on, then."
"Go on?"
"Were you able to visualize everything?"
"I don't understand why you ask me that every time-"
"Humor me?"Isaac sighed, meeting his boyfriend's playful grin with a frown, "yes, I was able to visualize everything."

Notes:
Back in 2020, I ended up writing a lot of Isaac/Arthur, or a lot of Isaac/Mc/Arthur. So much so that I have an abandoned series centered around the three of them getting together. And back then my primary writing was, usually, smut unlike nowadays.
But I liked imagining a lot of the quiet moments they could have, or just friendly moments that weren't entirely focused on shipping or sex or anything similar. Just pretty mundane.
This resulted in me wanting to write a good chunk about how Isaac, and others, did in fact enjoy Arthur's writing - then this later got confirmed by Cybird in a later event or route.
I lost steam on this piece, but it was going to highlight how Isaac rarely showcases his thoughts regarding creative works. He has a history of being unable to share his research, or struggling to do so, due to past experiences, so i ran to the conclusion that for his personal takes on creative pieces, especially onces he himself had no part in, he would struggle to find the words.
Arthur is already famous as a writer, but I think he'd give peeks of early versions to those interested in the mansion. Most of his escapism attitudes result in drinking or sleeping around, but I think he would cave towards sharing his work early as another - healthier - way to tap into the old joys of creating again; to see how people reacted when reading it. (We do get hints of this in various events or routes, but this is just a headcanon to me).
This was going to roll into Isaac being grumbly over why his opinion was so important, but Arthur just wanted an excuse to spend time with someone else - while also enjoying watching someone read his work favorably. Plus, I think he'd have a fun time forcin Isaac to use his 'words'.
It ties into another scrapped piece I have about Arthur having writers block, and lamenting it Loudly to the point of other mansion residents raising complaints or trying to annoyingly help him out - before kicking him out of their rooms and leaving him for Theo to deal with.
Summary: In which Isaac joins them for a picnic. Overthinking as usual...
Hey!! This is a series! This is the third part of it, for more info and the other bits, please view this post.
“A picnic?” Isaac spoke to himself, scanning the letter she had left on his desk once more.
Arthur and her apparently had previous plans to go on a small outing, but something inane must have caused them to invite him. Wouldn’t he just be an awkward accessory?
The letter was set back as he glanced out the window, recalling how pleasant the sun felt on his skin the brief moment he managed to step outside today.
Well… He could always bring a book along, couldn’t he?
Isaac was greeted by the smiling couple once he met them in the garden. He nervously tapped his boot against the ground, clearing his throat. But before he had a chance to speak, she was settling beside him, holding up a book of her own.
“Looks like we had the same idea, Isaac. Isn’t the weather perfect for reading today?”
“Erm, y-yes, it is…”
“Figured this would be a good chance to chat about some things,” Arthur smiled as he spoke, and to anyone else it would seem like a normal statement. But Isaac’s cheeks flushed, knowing they were wanting to talk about the…. Tryst, he had been invited to.
“R-right…” Every movement of his felt stiff- since when had he gotten more nervous between these two? But they didn’t let him suffer in such a way for long.
Instead, Arthur accepted his awkward agreement while giving her a wink, and… they were off, walking past the grounds of the mansion, further into privacy.
He shouldn't feel his heart flutter like so. She held onto his hand tightly as they walked up the nearby hill, basket in his other hand as he carefully guided her. Before them was Arthur, blanket in tow as he led the way to an 'old picnic spot' he used to roam off to on days plagued with writer's block.
As Arthur babbled about the secluded spot, swearing it was the reason he was finally able to publish this or that story, Isaac glanced over at her, catching her stifling a giggle.
Was this what being in a relationship was like? Accepting your partner's subtle oddities while sharing some of your own?
How wonderful it must be to be so readily accepted in such a way…
"Here we are!"
Still ramped up by his own excitement, Arthur whipped out the blanket in a flourish- acting dramatic in order to incite more teasing tsks from her. It seemed as though Isaac’s brows furrowing made Arthur’s smile brighter, bringing out laughter from the man.
Isaac… Couldn’t really fathom why his expression caused that, but he still watched as Arthur took her hand with the same energy as before, pressing a kiss against her knuckles before the couple settled onto the blanket. Isaac was surprised when Arthur reached for his hand after, playfully tugging him down to join them.
“We packed all of your favorites, Newt!”
“Which means I made sure Arthur didn’t pack any apples…”
For a moment, Isaac leaned back on his hands as they unpacked the basket and chatted between each other, closing his eyes and letting the cooling wind freely muss his hair without complaint. That, paired with the warmth of her hand over his, and being shoulder to shoulder with Arthur, felt the closest he could get to pure joy. How odd, that it was these two settling his heart in such a way.
Perhaps spending one heated night with them, regardless of his experience, wouldn’t be as shameful as he pictured it to be. Not if they accepted him just a fraction as readily as they accepted each other.
This one is pretty short. Admittedly, I realized that it's been a Very long time since I updated this, and so I looked for another SFW scene and tried to put some sort of order to them, and decided that this one would be a nice third installment.
Eventually....eventually...this does delve into smut... however those drafts are. hm. they don't seem to follow a set timeframe, and it is difficult figuring out who does what with Isaac first, second, last... They are usually short as well, with Isaac a bit overwhelmed but enjoying himself.
i assumed it made a bit more sense to put out the fluffy stuff before they bang, and then slip in the small bits of them banging. Since it's all over the place, I may combine some of the things Mc does with isaac into a post where Isaac is reflecting on the many things they've done together, before Arthur starts taking his turn.
Don't know! Sorry, I'm not used to sharing fanfics that never got completed in the end. It is a little hard to muster past the anxiety to show how clusterfucked some of it is.

It's still wednesday somewhere, right? :') I maybe got distracted with some things.
Here is a current wip for Glimpses of Teal and Auburn, a Arthur/Mc/Isaac fanfic, that I would love to finish eventually.
It takes him a moment to register the sound, but once the knock gets firmer, Isaac’s jolts from his thoughts. He blinks once, twice, and then shakes his head, finally moving to open the door.
And when he does, he sees her; in her nightgown with a shawl wrapped around her shoulders.
“Is everything alright?”
But she smiles at his question, nodding.
“I’m fine, it’s just… Well, Arthur and I were getting ready to go to bed and thought maybe you’d… like to join us?” She peeks over his shoulder, noting the mess of gears and tools on his desk. “Unless you’re busy?”
He follows her gaze. “W-well… I should probably stop for the night, lest I get absorbed into it until morning.” Then it fully clicks to him, pink dusting his cheeks. “W-wait, sleeping with you and Arthur?”
“Not in the dirty way,” She giggles, leaning against the doorframe, “we thought it might make you less nervous whenever we do… you know.”
Now it’s her turn to blush, but she continues. “Surely if you spend a few nights with us, just getting used to how we all rest, it’ll help?”
“... I… M-maybe so.”
“It’s really okay if you don’t want to, Isaac, you don’t have to say ‘yes’ to everything I suggest.”
“I-It’s not that, I promise,” Isaac rubs the back of his neck, “Is the bed b-big enough?”
“Mine is, I think Arthur’s would be a little too cramped, especially if Vic tried to join us.”
Isaac nods, thoughts preoccupied on being wrapped in blankets with her scent. Not to mention in her arms-
Isaac clears his throat, nodding. “Then y-yes, I’ll join you. I just need to get dressed….”
I have a taglist set up, but I don't want to bother folks over a wip :')

Isaac absentmindedly bit the corner of his thumb, scanning over the pages of the book lost in thought. In truth, he wanted the book to offer some distraction, but he found himself rereading the same passages over and over again while he kept thinking of the proposition he was offered.
He couldn’t deny that he was curious. A night spent entertwined with such a loving couple, finally being able to get a taste of that warmth between them… But why were they wanting him out of everyone here? Was it purely out of pity due to his lack of romantic experience? Because they were attracted to him?
Or was it simply the fact that the other residents rejected the couple’s odd request, and Isaac was the last on the list?
The idea sullied his mood in an instant, for it seemed the most likely. Because, in comparison, how could he be the ideal choice? A lack of sexual prowess did more harm than good in this situation, considering the fact they’d have to ease him into this. His body was lithe, laughable when put beside someone like Theo or Napoleon- Or even Vincent. Stuttering was a curse that slipped out when his nerves were shot, and he’d been constantly teased for his overthinking; something that would come out in the bedroom, he was sure of.
It seemed reasonable to doubt that he was their first choice, and no matter how he had become accustomed to his downfalls, it still rather stung when placed in this context. A firm reminder of why he was never successful even trying to secure friendships before his ‘second chance’ at life. Given his lack of success academically this go around, due to refusal to share his research, Isaac even sometimes wondered if le Comte regretted bringing him back.
“What’s got you so glum, ol’ boy?”
Isaac sighed as Arthur plopped down beside him on the couch, the writer resting his arm along the backside of it; his hand resting just by Isaac’s head, “nothing.”
“Mm, so that frown is just part of your natural expression?”
“Haven’t you anything better to do than plague me this early in the day?”
“Come on, Newt,” Arthur’s fingers teased the back of Isaac’s head, toying with his hair, “you know it’s all in good fun! I don’t mean it harshly.”
Isaac kept quiet for a moment, flustering at the scarcely intimate touches. With the way her and Arthur worded their idea, Arthur was interested in Isaac, too. Or, at the least, the idea of being… close… with another man.
The negativity coming back in full force made his stomach churn, and it must have shown on his face, for Arthur’s tone lowered.
“Hey, I mean that. It’s just a friendly tease, I didn’t know it would harm you-”
“It’s not that,” Isaac interjected, Arthur’s guilt causing him to feel worse, “I’ve just got a lot on my mind.”
“Mm, is it about the three of us…?”
Ah, he hated the way his cheeks were so quick to blush. Isaac looked away, rubbing the back of his neck.
“You know, Isaac, it’s alright to change your mind.”
“That’s not…” Rubbing his eyes, Isaac sighed, “I just don’t understand.”
“Hm?”
“I don’t understand why you asked. Or rather, why you asked me. I understand being curious over these matters...exploring… but surely I wasn’t your first choice,” the words came out in a rush, Isaac not wanting to give Arthur a chance to cut him off, “every conclusion I reach- it just doesn’t make sense.”
Arthur finally stopped toying with Isaac’s hair, instead propping his head up as he looked at Isaac, “is it that hard to fathom that we’re attracted to you?”
“...Yes.”
At the quiet admission, Arthur’s eyes widened for a moment- and Isaac felt embarrassed; what was he doing? What was possessing him to admit his worries in such a manner?
But Arthur gave him a gentle smile, reaching out to tuck Isaac’s hair behind his ear, “for all the greatness you contain, you still can’t work out the reasons why someone may house affections for you?”
Cheeks burning, Isaac couldn’t get himself to respond. His throat felt tight from the sudden compliment, and… he felt like a fool, for getting so torn up over an opportunity others would leap towards.
But Arthur didn’t poke or prod with jokes, and instead kept talking.
“It’s rather easy to pick ourselves apart to compare with others. When we’re trapped in our own thoughts, it’s easy to convince ourselves of the worst. But, whether you want to believe it or not, you do have charms to you- physical and otherwise.
I won’t claim to know how it feels to go through what you have, and perhaps it’s asking a lot, but I’d like you to believe us when I say we didn’t ‘settle’ on you, Isaac. If it’s difficult, we’re more than happy to make the fact very clear.”
Isaac wasn’t sure how much he could take. His heart thundered in his chest as he poorly attempted to sort through his emotions, ruminating on the words said- that he was actually wanted. Wanted by two people that constantly occupied his thoughts, in one way or another.
Two people that, whether he wanted to admit it or not, made him feel more than he had in years.
“I…,” his voice was raspy, struggling not to show the torrent of emotions going through him, “I t-think I’d like that.”

“Y-You want me to what?”
Isaac couldn’t believe such a question was coming from her lips, and he was near tempted to turn his disbelief onto Arthur with the assumption that it was his idea foisted upon her. But the accusation died in his throat as his cheeks burned, watching her own heat up from sheepishness.
Should he have known better? Earlier today, she had asked to speak with him privately when he had the time. Isaac had honestly thought she was going to ask his help with finding a holiday gift for Arthur, not help with… an itch between them.
Isaac turned his gaze back toward his journal, unable to take Arthur’s grin any longer. “I thought y-you were both above such jokes.”
“Isaac, we wouldn’t tease you in such a way.”
Gods, her voice sounded hurt. But Isaac couldn’t help the accusation slipping out, not with the situation at hand. Drumming his pen against his journal, still refusing to look back towards the couple, he spoke again.
“T-Then why me?” Out of everyone here, he knew far too well he was never the first choice, “this doesn’t make any sense- you thought I was appropriate for this, even given the fact that I-I haven't even k-kissed...”
“That’s easily remedied!” Arthur piped in, “I don’t mind showing you the ropes-”
"Absolutely not! You'd come at me too hard!" Isaac finally looked their way, only to falter at Arthur’s grin.
"Oh? Would you rather she help you out?"
He paused, feeling himself lose steam as he blushed and looked away once more.
“I-If we were to do this, y-yes…”
“Aw, Isaac, I’d love to.”
Wait, no, they were getting off track. Closing his journal, Isaac turned in his seat towards their direction. Looking at them directly nearly made him break into a sweat, but he held their gazes as he spoke- slowly, but firmly.
“I-If this isn’t a tease, then… Let me think on this.” When Arthur perked up, Isaac nervously fidgeted with his hair, looking down, “this is the most absurd proposition that’s ever been asked of me.”
And he couldn’t believe he was even considering it.
