There were little words that came to mind around how thankful Elris was for Isak. The man had helped him in a time of vulnerability, made his knee somewhat workable. He’d still have to use an aid but when he’d turn up at the surgery his knee was shattered. Isak preformed a miracle that day… or at least in Elris mind that’s what he had done.

Elris had made sure to keep in contact with the man ever since that day, help when he was able and didn’t have to go back home. There were a lot of subjects Elris knew but medicine was one where he was lacking maybe if he’s known some he could have saved his own knee. He was honoured to learn from Isak and today was no exception there was a surgery planned, Elris had put on a leg brace, it didn’t allow for movement but it meant he could stand with his hands free to help Isak. “So what are we doing today?”

The amount of physical exhaustion, the lactic acid making all his muscles practically dead weights meant he had to go back behind the what remained of the walls. Jurgen looked for any form of nutrition available. It was a stew and a stale piece of bread. Place the bread in the stew in an attempt to soften in up.

Jurgen was able to find what looked like a log, no one could be sure but there was enough room to rest. Looking down at the swirling broth as the seasoning and water started to separate. Fuck this was disgusting he wouldn’t have even served this to his goblin army there would have been a revolt. Another joined him on the log, he couldn’t help but look over to see if the legion of the dead got anything better then the mercenaries “what are they giving you? Got to be better than this water.”
