The Sound of Worship
In this observation I was given the opportunity to just sit and listen to the people, teachings, and music of the Newman Catholic Center. As I was sitting in the pews of the Church I was welcomed and greeted with warm smiles and inviting faces. Complemented by the breath taking art, sculptures, and paintings, the sounds of this space came from the Priest opening the ceremony. The choir, full of talented students, began with a piece entitled, “Open the Eyes of my Heart”. The space subliminally demands complete silence from all who join the service, and the focus is entirely on whom is speaking. With the chance to observe the sounds within my space, I was able to see how this space is being used, and what this space offers its inhabitants.
