I think afterwards, when they settle into a nice rappore, it'll be because Isatu genuinely values what Maiya thinks and says, he doesn't dismiss her because she's a woman or a serving girl. He treats her like a Queen and respects her, and that goes a long way with her. He's also kind and considerate to her little sister as well, which also scores bonus points.
