Saw that isayama said in another interview that Eren would lend his jackets to Mikasa when she was cold, and im like very kinda in a way about it; cause, like, one one hand im like you cant just retroactively add more romantic details to your story to make your cannon ship better, but on the other hand if Isayama said that Eren gave his old jacket to historia id probably eat that shit up. Gobble gobble nom nom

Did you watch the new interview of Isayama that shown in final manga exhibition?

I did! What intrigued me most was the second question, about the meaning of drawing manga. I’m not surprised at all that Isayama is a bit of a sadistic writer lol (I relate), but I wonder if this will determine what kind of ending the story has? Will we get the kill-em-all he originally planned? But what about that time he said he wanted it to be kinda like Guardians of the Galaxy (that was especially weird)? And the last panel seems so hopeful...

I just can’t get a read on this man!

I’m going middle road and saying bittersweet as per my usual policy.

Isayama-sensei Interview

The secret of Mikasa and Levi's connection to the Ackermann family is revealed! Can Mikasa, Levi, and Kenny be considered descendants of the same Ackermann family?

Isayama-sensei: Yes, they come from the same Ackermann family. But it's certainly due to the nature of each of the three that they don't fight because of their ancestry, but to protect someone. (laughs) In the manga, Mikasa and Levi become a kind of bodyguard. This has to do with the fact that it's in their nature to find someone who is like a boss and for whom they work.

Edit: To clarify in case there is confusion. This is saying that Ackermans choose someone to be loyal to by their own free will. The fact that they are Ackermans has nothing to do with it. "Boss" is a loose term. Obviously, Eren is not Mikasa's boss. It should be read as "something like a boss".

Notice Kenny is left out of the bodyguard comment. The reasons they choose to be loyal are different from one another. Later in the book (that I will post once translated) the different reasons are given.
