The spectrum of music! 🎨🎶 Recently, I was coaching a fellow musician who was criticizing himself for his choice of notes being common or "played out". I laughed and said, "Western music has only 12 tones. The guitar covers about four octaves. That is a finite palate of notes. Would you really accuse yourself of copying a Rembrandt simply because you painted with some of the same 12 colors?" * * * I believe very strongly that human beings need to express themselves. When words are not enough; we have other sounds, colors, flavors, and movements! In effort to make both art and music more accessible to myself, I created a method that combines these artistic practices - for anyone to use! * * * Months ago, I collected addresses months ago, thinking quarantine was the perfect time to launch the Musicoloring system via the #postalservice... Just this morning, I put the first two packages in the mailbox! (Finally! 😅) This first installment is an introduction to the the twelve tones of western music... via color! ❤💛💚💙💜 Sometimes, seeing it in black and white cam be intimidating (traditional music notation, aka dots on and between the lines of a staff). So, this first lesson is about seeing the spectrum of music without formal notation.
