Sorry if you've written about this before, but what was it like for him to get dragged into the distortion world? To clarify, not what its like in the distortion world itself, but what was it like in the moment when he was ripped from this mortal plane and dragged into the other side, what was that experience like and how did it effect him afterwards?

—I’d imagine its a condensed form of wormhole travel that we see in USUM. If we assume Ultra Space connects all these different worlds together, then it makes sense that Giratina essentially dragged him through to the Distortion World. You’ll note he didn’t have the proper gear (like the USUM protags) so I’d imagine that it was a PAINFUL experience, only mitigated by the shock of the travel. Obviously not a fatal one. Very cold. Very dark.

I do not believe it left any lasting form of evidence on him, given he did not spend prolonged time in the space between worlds. It was certainly a mental blow, given Cyrus had only heard of alternate dimensions where gods roamed in fables. This new information shocked him, but the full weight would not settle in until after he was defeated. He takes it rather well.

How different of a man would he be if his circumstances were different? Or is he always doomed to fall?

–I firmly believe that Cyrus could have done great things had he come to fully know and understand love and compassion. He’s incredibly talented, intelligent, and driven. Perhaps he could have been a brilliant inventor or got to actually go and experience space like he’s dreamed of.

However, in most timelines, he is always doomed to fall. He is pre-disposed towards being cynical toward emotion in general. It would have to be a major life change to stop him from the path he’s on, and thus, in most versions, he will likely go down the dark path that haunts him.

What's his favorite consolation? And for what reason?

—Cyrus loves almost every constellation and the legends behind it (Luxray, Ursa(ring) minor and major, The Original One, skorupi, etc.), but a particular favorite of his is (Mur)Corvus, the crow. Outside of being the sacred bird of the sun god, he in always intrigued by the tale. Legend says all Murkrow used to be white, but suffered a curse after delivering bad news to their master that turned them all black. The blatant lashing of even the mythical deities causing strife to innocents amuses him.

His acquisition of Honchkrow is directly related to his fondness for the constellation.
