So this has been a long time coming.

As of this month, this blog will be ARCHIVED. Cyrus will be found here (ignore the url atm) where we will be looking at him in a new light: post game. I’m excited to see where his character will go, and the verses/rules page have been updated to reflect the new main verses I will be writing him in. If you plan to follow me over, I’d highly appreciate you taking a look! 

All of his current relationships I have discussed with others will STAND AS THEY ARE. I will still very much have a game verse, and anyone is free to contact me regarding your muses relationship with him post-galactic. I feel I’ve exhausted his character in regards to the game plot, as he feasibly cannot change in order to achieve the spear pillar ending. It’s time to move onwards.

In other news, this month marks ONE YEAR I’ve been in this community. I’ve seen people come and go and all that nonsense, but I thank those of you who have stuck with me and Cy even through my prolonged absences. I’m learning to cut back on time here, so my activity still will remain sporadic, especially as class starts up again next week.

I will be moving threads over that I previously discussed. The ask box is open over there, so I would appreciate any questions or asks to be placed in that inbox instead of this one.

So from what I’ve been getting told via inbox and reply is that my best course of action is to reboot and ignore canon’s restrictions. Which honestly seems like a pretty solid idea, because I’m always worried about my timeline.

I’ll give thought to it, and perhaps as this blog is about to turn 1 year old in January, I’ll seek to move to a new one and try to play out Cyrus’ tragedy in another light. This time with the main verse focusing on post-game, where I get to decide where his path will lead. A way where I can tread the line of keeping him irredeemable and yet allow him to build relationships. 

Yeah. That sounds like an excellent idea.

Question: Do any of you ever feel ‘stuck’ with a muse, and if so, how do you get around it?

I feel like I don’t have a solid direction for Cyrus to grow in, and that everything I write or answer just gets repetitive. I get bored. Then I drop it and it’s so unfair to my partner and the muse. Since my main plot happens in Platinum’s timeline, we know where he starts and where he will end, but to get to that end, I cannot change his goals and morality. He cannot grow at all as a person for the better, because of how desperate he needs to be for his plans to work.

I’ve considered throwing everything I could at him. Relationships, enemies, friends, and see how much he could take and still reject on his path to godhood. But the starting his interactions with other characters is a challenge that is my responsibility to solve, and my mind runs in loops until I finally exit the browser and go do something else.

I need to find new facets to explore, maybe. As much as I love my god verse, the whole point of it is that he is unchanging, and I cannot do anything with him there except repeat the same mantras. 

So the question again: what do you do when you’re stuck with a muse?

Cyrus offers a snort as he leans back in his chair, crossed arms closing off his body from the world around him. All mortals feared death. “I fear death, yes, but only because I do not know what follows. Will I be bound to this wretched place? Will I move to something better? Worse? I should like to think that if I perish, I will merely not exist. That freedom is almost as intoxicating as living forever.”

“I am afraid to die yet be trapped here. I am afraid to die and be forgotten in the passage of time. I am afraid to have existed for nothing, to never realize my true purpose. But more so, I am afraid to live here forever, Leaf.”

No greater fear existed than to reign immortal in an imperfect universe! Never escaping, never leaving, only living with the knowledge that eternity lay at your feet.

“---And given all of our bodies tell a story, I suppose we are all constellations in our own right. What a shame that so much of it is forgotten! I cannot stomach that I will one day fade into history with everyone else, forgotten and unknown.”

A bold point at the sky. These things are so much easier to admit in the dark. “I will have my name written up there eventually, and all will remember who I am. The soft tones of a snarl lace his words, but he stands eerily calm. The god moves his tired eyes from hers to look at the dirt beneath his feet, fingers lacing through tall grass as he crouches. See how it grows, unmarred? See how it curls around the fingers of its creator, loyal and true? Yet Leaf is a stone, unwavering and cruel, refusing to allow nature to beat her into perfection.

“That is equal to my saying that you have no right to stand against me. Let us be honest with each other--- every right is now mine, as this is the reality, and this is my universe. My whims are all that is valid here. If it was not, I would have been defeated.”

If he could still feel it, his heart would ache tremendously. Daughter of sin, why do you not accept forgiveness? Why do you choose to fight?
