I have sewn three garments during the past two weeks to keep myself from using the computer after a certain hour, and one of them was this skirt using my original print, Little Ida’s Flowers on plain-weave cotton. I want to use up the last bits of this fabric to make a bow to pin to it, but for the time being, it was part of my outfit for the North Carolina Art Museum’s Art in Bloom show! Each florist involved made a flower arrangement based on a work of art in the gallery, and the Triangle Bonsai Society had set up their bonsais on display in a courtyard. It was my first time going, and it was so inspiring! I liked this skirt OKwhen I made it, but I hadn't accounted for how bulcky the fabric would be along the waistband and it was super unflattering with this huge bump around in my waist. So, I took out some extra fabric and tapered the skirt, and added the pockets while I was at it.
