Renato Albano: The Neon Bandit
Ren has a deep hatred for the Amestrian military, as his home city was invaded and ravaged under the guise of eliminating the threat of a mafia rule. He eventually joined the state military as a state alchemist, his main interests being non-lethal, disarming attacks. He got his name as the Neon Alchemist from his signature move: a blinding flash bomb. He only further pushed this name by getting himself glow in the dark tattoos that are revealed when exposed to bright light. He was eventually put in charge of diplomatic relations for ending a revolt taking place in a city along the border, but instead he turned on his troupe and wiped them out with the help of the rebellion. He’s since gone missing, using alchemy to sabotage and rob any military troupes he comes across. He’s since gone by the name The Neon Bandit.
Cecelia Varr: The Blossom Alchemist
Cecelia was born with a genetic condition that caused her to have inflammatory issues around her chest (more specifically around her heart). The medicine that Ishvala produced at the time couldn’t help ease her pain, so her older brother quickly realized that the only way she could control it was by creating more uniquely blended medicine with alchemy. This was her first step into the world of alchemy, and it piqued her interest immediately. She began studying more about how to use alchemy in medicinal ways, and started to slowly build a reputation for her skill in aiding those in need. This reputation gained the attention of the state military, and she was pushed to consider taking the state alchemist exam. It was believed that her passing would help aid tensions brewing between Amestris and Ishval, and that at best she could be used as a sort of ambassador between the two countries.
