Last Friday got our submission in for Creative England's 'Funny Girls'. I co-wrote wrote with Rosy, who is our killer in Heartstrings and who generally makes me cry tears of laughter when she's not being a silent assassin. The more I make things the more I find the use in 'finding your edges'... If it were a painting, where would it stop? I interpret this on a reference level to identify where the playing field is and how far it stretches. We've both got a love of physical comedy and have worked together enough to feel confident to deliver it. Below are our references. Sarah Lund meets Mary Poppins in this Time Travel comedy. Think Sleeper without the sex jokes and with Marx Brothers wordplay. And maybe horseplay too. Sound ridiculous? That's us. It's a two hander and our heroine's partner in jokes is a black gay dude. Not quite enough non-cringeworthy references for his character floating about just yet.
