Neither Obama nor Trump come out of this well and neither of them deserve to. Trump was a mendacious pro-Russian fascist who gleefully let his favorite murderers butcher their way through Syria without muss or fuss and left the Kurds to go hang. Obama was a mealy-mouthed coward whose policies in their results toward Syrians can most charitably be defined as sociopathic in their callousness and had just enough shred of a conscience to make a hundred dozen excuses on why letting the Muscovite horde slaughter them all was the right call.

In truth there is no difference in outcome, only two different means of rationalizing the same result.
