The Orochi are truly the redshirts of the SWL universe. Which makes sense, given Lilith, but they get up to some truly stupid shenanigans on top of that.

I think the Council is probably a better choice than the Phoenicians, honestly, the Phoenicians don’t come across as all that competent themselves. I’m just a sucker for the Best Color and gives-no-fucks pirate factions. Kaoru joined up with them so they can’t be all bad...

Re: how the commison might react to Endeavour getting exposed by dabi. They'll probably arrange some villain attacks to show off how much 'better' he is trying to be and matyr him at the same time. Harder to criticize a dead hero. Pull Hawks out of infiltration because they need someone to be the face. Eliminate Dabi bc he exposed endeavour and could expose Hawks as doubleagent. Push forward the idea that more heroes should be bought and raised like Hawks. Create fake LOV attacks and media contr

Possibly fake a few more lov attacks to off a few more undesirable elements who might upset the status quo including Rei because she has the potential to be a very sympathetic figure against endeavour if she were known. this is so extremely fucked up that part of me is really intrigued :’D It does paint the Commission as the bunch of corrupt, power-hungry beasts I also headcanon them to be, but...

When I asked that question I was mostly doing it to brainstorm ideas for my own fic. While I do find this concept potentially interesting, I’m not really up for writing a story like that. I’m more interested in writing the perspective of the people who’ve been wronged by the system; I wanna expose those flaws so that they can be explicitly addressed and dealt with. 

The kind of narrative you’re suggesting can work to show just how wrong the system is, but it can just as easily become a cheap way of making things more complicated for characters who already suffered plenty. 

Call me an optimist or whatever, but I prefer a story where the characters struggle and suffer, but in the end they do manage to find some sort of resolution after all those hardships. Struggling just for the sake of struggling is pointless, as far as storytelling goes imho

regarding Taz and Ghost Trick: what if there had been a Temsik fragment near Lup when she died and she ended up with ghost trick powers? also, your thoughts on cat-Sissel?

You know that moment in the game, where Lynne is holding the sword with the globe on the end and holds it out so Sissel can reach someone? Imagine a whole lot of that, but with Taako and the Umbrastaff. Taako can't communicate with this umbrella directly, but it sure does move around on its own a lot and it's been known to slap him via opening suddenly when he starts to do something stupid - it's definitely attempting to communicate with him. So sometimes Taako will point the umbrella in a specific direction or point it at a particular object because that's where the umbrella wanted to be pointed. And sometimes it's his hat that moves, or something nearby. The umbrella is a hell of a lot smarter than Taako, Magnus, or Merle, and they're all well aware of that.And, if Taako ever were to die - say one of those times he came perilously close but survived - maybe Lup intervened. Maybe four minutes was enough time to deflect a spell just enough, or distract an enemy. Then they can talk to each other, and Taako would like to know why the person in his umbrella has his face. Lup refuses to explain (and knows that it would be pointless to try). But now, Taako has the benefit of his sister's advice whenever he needs it - and Lup has the benefit of being able to yell when he doesn't get close enough for her to possess another object.

My thoughts on cat-Sissel: THE BEST CAT. Absolutely the best cat. How could there be a better cat? One of the biggest surprises about Ghost Trick is how it always makes me want to cuddle my pets.

(Also, you should know that introducing the idea of Ghost Trick and Taz together has me thinking about au possibilities. A one-night-only murder mystery? Mistaken identities and missing memories? A group of people connected by one fateful occurrence? Yes, perfect.)

Hi! I have a few questions about Goldenverse. How long has it been since Karkat and the ohters were kidnapped? Also, how are Sollux and the others back on Alternia doing? For some reason, I keep imagining Sollux using his hacking to figure out the most likely spots for more pirate to appear and then Gamzee or someone else takes the lead in stealing the pirate ship so that they can rescue Karkat.

Hm, I don’t really have a specific time frame of events, but I’m ballparking roughly a week inside the pirate ship, maybe a couple days more, another week for Karkat’s coma, and I think another 6 days for Stillness of Hours. So... three weeks and a bit so far?

As for Sollux and the others, well, eventually I’d like to write their side of things, so I don’t want to give too much away. But let’s just say that they won’t exactly need to take over a pirate ship.

Sollux did hack remote servers in canon after all. He just doesn’t know yet what to look for, but some digging will point him the right way.

Just asking for no real reason beyond that I miss secret world legends. Who would you say was your favorite npc? And not counting the main 3 factions, which faction would you have joined or played as if given the option?

I’ve been thinking about this for days because there are so many good npcs it’s super hard to choose. After considerable deliberation, however, my #1 favorite is Daimon Kiyota. I’m a sucker for tricksters.

Honorable mention to Norma Creed, Moose, Madam Roget, Eleanor Franklin, Saïd!!, Monty and Arun, damn near everyone in Transylvania, Harumi, Ricky Pagan, Inbeda, the Mask of Kan’ami, and of course, Emma.

As for what faction... Hmm. Well... *fingerguns* definitely not Morninglight!  :’D

Re: the Starblaster crew becoming gods. Now if only there was a way to indicate specifically that an au was an au of this specific piece of media. Like pantheonstuck. :P Okay, now that that's out of my system. Since this all started with talk of Taako becoming an emissary, how about calling it the Emissary Zone? The Divine Zone? Zone of Devininous? In-universe, they could be referred to as the Gods of the Relics or the Gods of the Silver Ship.

Okay first thing’s first, I have a confession to make. It’s time you all knew. I am a sham, a fraud. I have been among you this whole time and I haven’t said anything but I don’t know the first thing about homestuck. I only know enough to know the first part of this message is a homestuck reference in some way. It started with undertale and now we’re here, I’m the kid who accidentally ended up following the wrong class around on a field trip but you’re all so nice that I didn’t leave. I’m sorry you had to find out this way.

I do like the idea of an au name that includes the emissary part - it’s a progression thing and the seven’s godhood is only helped by the fact that they’re friends with multiple gods to begin with. Is there like... an established term for ascending to godhood. Okay I just googled it (google knows all) and it gave me the term “apotheosis” which is supposed to mean when an individual is raised to godlike status so... Apotheosis Zone? Apotheosis au? That might be too much of a mouthful, and I don’t know if there are negative connotations I should know about. I’m so bad at names.

I’m fond of the idea of them being called the Seven Birds (so much bird imagery! so poetic!), but I could definitely see them having those titles, too - part of divinity is having a lot of titles, I think. (It could also be a mix - maybe the birds are usually depicted in silver?)

Based on some of the things you've been saying and just thinking back to the new taz commitment episode itself, are we 100% sure these are the 'good guys'?

We’re not! At the very least, there’s plenty of setup if Clint decides that’s where he wants to take the campaign - I’m very interested to see what the tone is once the team has their powers, as well as what their instructions are and specifically what they have to do. I feel like that will give us a better indication about the direction this is heading.

Of course, this could well be coincidence. I’m not sure how long this smaller campaign will be, and if there’s really enough time for a twist. The situation might be more likely to come up if they make a long campaign out of this premise, but for now it’s just fun to consider the possibilities!
