having just read a book by a widely known author who i don't particularly like is always interesting bc either i will not even care that i finished the book bc it was far too long, quite boring and absolutely badly written or (as right now is the case) i will be enraged and furious to the point of being mad at my own partner because the book was so anti-feminist, sexist, ableist and racist (in a weird explicit anti-immigrant kinda way) while ALSO BEING TOO FUCKING LONG AND BORING that if my partner does one thing that upsets me i'll be immediately ready to fight which is NOT what i want from a book
#yes i'm talking about sjm and yes it's about that fucked up boring ass book where the two minor characters go travelling and everyone else#isn't relevant#i am so so mad. the only thing that can make this worse is if the female love interest (WHO JUST MARRIED TH GUY AFTER KNOWING HIM FOR 2 MONT#HS AND TOOK HIS LAST NAME AFTER STATING MULTIPLE TIMES THAT OVER CENTURIES HER LAST NAME THAT CONNECTS HER TO THE BOOKS NAMESAKE TOWER WAS#PASSED DOWN FOL MOTHER TO DAUGHTER???)#becomes pregnant in the next book which is likely after all the talk about pregnancies and the womb imagery in the whole book and i hate it#i hate it i hate it i hate it#sjm#someone stop this woman or send her a really good editor#leen talks shit
