I just wanted to tell you that “If an Injury is to be Inflicted” was fucking AMAZING!!!! OMFG IT WAS GREAT. SO ELEGANT! SO WELL-WRITTEN! SO GORGEOUS! AND EXCELLENT GRAMMAR AS WELL!!!!! Instant favorite. I loved everything about it. You are so, so talented and I hope you never lose confidence or forget it. Love you 💕💕💕

do you ever have those chapters of a fic that kinda just write themselves and it’s soooo satisfying being able to write them that quickly?

I wasn’t planning on doing part 3 of Empress for the Eve but I’ve had quite a few messages/replies about it so is that something people genuinely want and would read?  I deff have an idea for what a final part of that mini-series would look like 👀

2. What is your favourite snippet of dialogue?

Dialogue is actually one of the aspects of writing that I find challenging, so this was an exercise in being as objective as possible to pick a line I loved 😅

It’s from Speak (and may the world come undone) - one of the stories I’m most proud of writing. I hope feel like this little snippet shows the two viewpoints Harry and Draco hold about war, and survival, and trust, and what is right, as well as hinting at how they have begun to feel about each other.

“Malfoy. You made it.”

“Yes, well—” Malfoy’s mouth twisted, dark, wry, “—I rather think the point is that you made it, no?”

Harry swallowed hard around the lump of grief in his throat at the memory of digging that tiny grave in the dunes, at the litany of names listed in that morning’s Potterwatch, at the hollow look in Malfoy’s eyes. At any other time he would have been railing against the surreality of having a civil conversation with Malfoy, but now he only felt an ache in his chest. They should be allowed to fight, to snarl and snap and throw meaningless hexes at each other in well-loved Hogwarts halls. Not to be brought to this; midnight meetings and the cool-headed pragmatism of soldiers.

“No, Malfoy, the point is that everyone makes it.”

2019 Creator Tag

1. So I’m way late to the party with this tag fill - and I’m now sitting at my laptop realising that it’s because I find it incredibly hard to actually love on my creative output. 

So I’m going off track and claiming pride and love for myself for actually writing and publishing anything at all in 2019! 

2. My first ever drarry fic - Heaven’s embroidered cloths - a fic-baby that grew out of wild costuming conversations with @diligent-thunder​ and @bixgirl1​ in the spring. 

Looking back I can see my faltering steps with coming back to writing (and this fandom) but I can also see the beginnings of my version of these characters, the stuttering growth of my voice - and I do love it.

3. I found my own little rarepair niche with my beloved Neville x Theo (nottbottom for those in the know 😂) - All Our Strength, And All Our Sweetness was huge fun to write and I’ve loved playing with this ship’s dynamic.

4. I wrote a birthday gift that made someone cry with happiness, which feels pretty damn good - especially as @tackytigerfic​ is a wonderful friend and my fic-taste-twin so it was full on validation on every level tbh.

Patient, Hungry, Waiting was a bit of a turning point for me in finding my vision of drarry, and tuning my words to express myself in a way that made me feel that ‘ah-hah!’ moment.

5. I wrote for Erised! And it turned out to be my favourite of my own work so far. The ‘oh god this is a big fest’ nerves were real on this one - rightly or wrongly - as well as ‘I love my giftee this needs to be good for her!’ 

That which hurts (and is desired) has had such an incredibly warm reception - and knowing people loved it before they knew it was by me was incredibly encouraging.

Needless to say - meeting wonderful, creative, clever, funny, like-minded folks through fandom this year has been the best bit of all ❤️
