Both our water and internet went off last night. I was running the dishwasher at the time the water pipe burst, so that was messy. When I called the internet company, they informed me a “node” was out in my area. I have no idea what a node is, but it seems it can cause all sorts of problems. Fortunately both internet and water and back this morning.

It’s entertaining how all us neighbors emerge from our apartments when something goes wrong and confer with each other. “Do you have water?” “No, me neither!” And then we talk about everything from the weather to legalizing marijuana. Somedays the anxiety is so bad that I can’t socialize, but yesterday I managed and it felt good. Isolation is hard.
