5. Figuring out what their next decade or even end looks like. I like the idea of her just retreating to a simple life in older age and she’s a legend. Thee Miami matriarch. Whether or not she wants it still or not. Motive and purpose is always hard for the kid for any character I write.

There was once a rp partner I had and they had a character by the name of Leo. Shoutout to Cayla. Rent free in my brain to this day. There was nothing but bangers between us!

maliq lied to zephyr. and zena.  and his two daughters -- mostly sola since sinead was still in infancy.  there was only one occasion on which he did such a wretched thing: he was planning to surprise her.  he honestly believed the look on her face would be worth the karmic punishment of telling a falsehood, so he told her he was attending some boring meeting with the legal team at his label.  his true whereabouts earlier that day couldn’t have been further from a boardroom with lawyers.

after returning home (with food, always with food) and kissing his babies hello, he managed to pull zephyr aside in the kitchen.  everyone else retreated to the tv room nearby.    “guess what?” maliq raised his brows, unable to contain his excitement.  “so, you know how i talk about us getting matching tats...i--.”  the laugh that escaped him was unstoppable.  “look,” he turned away from her, inching down the waistband of his joggers to reveal a very familiar tattoo.  zephyr written in a small old english font, covered in saran wrap, just below his hip.  “surprise,” he smiled widely, eager, anxious, and way too happy.

peace didn’t last for the couple long, no matter how hard xaire would push for it to. he tried to stick to his promises, he gave up all his vices and finally put action behind the words he’d been feeding her for years. yet all it took was an unknown number hitting his phone mid date to set everything ablaze. what started out as a night full of affection and genuine laughs had turned into a night of passive aggression and displayed anger by the slamming on inanimate objects. “that’s all it takes now, a random ass number to pull this shit out of you again? bet, say less.”

SMILING DOWN AT HER four month old who’d finally given up on crying and knocked herself out. “ thank god, she’s so much cuter when she’s not screaming like a banshee. ” she breathed letting her eyes close for a brief moment. it felt like she hadn’t slept, breathed or had a thought that wasn’t involving yumi in months. as much as she felt terrible about it what she wanted, more than anything, was for things to go back to how they were before she was a mom. to have fun, see her friends, talk about something other than kids but she didn’t dare say that aloud instead she let her arms fold like a table before letting her head rest there. “ i’m so tired, i miss coffee and blunts and lunch dates that aren’t playdates. ”
