history.
Ever since childhood, Isolde beheld the world with calm blue eyes and a thoughtful manner. Not one to run before she could walk, she took the world one step at a time under her parents guidance. The perfect heir, she took to the lessons of horticulture and botany with ease, keen eyes absorbing the information provided with glee and fervor. If there was any flaw to be pointed out of Isolde in her earlier years, it was that of her insatiable curiosity. If told a plant had medical properties, she would have it in her mouth before the sentence was done, attempting to discern how it tasted and what made it special. At first, this was just an odd quirk of hers, but that would change.
Soon, Isolde’s studies went beyond botany and horticulture, and her parents introduced her to the study of natural poisons and how to create them. It is then, when Isolde’s propensity to put all manner of plants on her mouth to test its effects grew into a dangerous hobby. Although it is true that undergoing the process of mithridatism is essential for all heirs of House Kelindorr, Isolde took to it with a relish that those in the known found odd if put in the kindest of ways. For you see, Isolde felt a certain level of delight at being poisoned, at figuring out how each poison worked and how it affected each of her organs. It was a morbid sort of curiosity, and one that only grew with the years.
While she kept to her duties, and went above and beyond even, during the years she was merely an heir and not a ruler, Isolde spent most of her time in her laboratory crafting poisons and their antidotes and testing them on herself until they were of a quality she approved. This tendency made her resistant to all poisonous plants available on Morkhul, and to a few found in other hollows which she acquired through connections.
Alas, her fun had to have an end, and hers ended with her parents passing. Isolde assumed her role as the ruling lady of Minolith Manor then, and she took the role with calm insight. There is pride in her work, after all, and in ensuring that the unions between velkynar are properly joined in union at the time of matrimony. Isolde takes to her duties with keen eyes, always neutral and always working to ensure only those worthy are blessed by the Kelindorr buds.
extras.
Her menagerie contains a variety of animals that range from snakes, frogs, spiders, caterpillars and the like. Their commonality is their toxic nature.
Due to her role as a ruling lady, she no longer tests her poisons on herself, and has instead shifted her attentions to refining her poisons to make them undetectable to the unlearned.
Tangentially related, she has the hobby of beekeeping. And while some of her hives produce honey for general consumption, she also keeps a few hives that she feeds with the pollen of poisonous flowers.
For the most part, Isolde lacks interest and passion for politics. There is a certain apathy when she looks beyond her house, and she does not care of ripples as long as those she cares remain undisturbed. Yet, if her family is threatened, she is always more than happy to retaliate with vengeance. Due to her mastery in poisons, she is more than willing to poison those who have chosen to move Kelindorr in any way, shape or form. Whether those poisons are deadly or not depends on the offense in her eyes.
Despite not caring about politics, however, Isolde is very observant and keeps a track of coming and going in the political world as she is her siblings shield and she will keep them safe from the world, come hell or high water.
She is partly based on Maomao from Apothecary Diaries.
Blessing Seekers: As flowers of the Minolith Forest are needed for the ceremony of union, I would like to have the connection to someone engaged/planning to be engaged and seeking the permission to get flowers for the ceremony. It can be discussed if Isolde will make it easy for them or not.
To Be Watched: Isolde is aware of your muses movement’s, realizes that they are working to ensnare her younger siblings in a scheme or another. For now, she will refrain from intervening overtly much, for as overprotective of them as she is, she is also aware that they must experience life (including betrayal) to grown and learn. However, if she thinks your muse crosses a line. Beware, consumption of anything might become hazardous.
Poke the Bear: Someone she grew up with that enjoys riling her up. A difficult task considering her facade is rather hard to break, but a worthy effort nonetheless.
