finally at the white march, my favourite part of Pillars 1 - you can feel the experience from the main game paying off here - there’s a confidence to the storytelling and a verve & boundary pushing to the use of things like the scripted encounters & the tone evens out, balancing the lightness of the companions with the surrounding context: there’s more humour, and character, in the npcs, the quests feel more open-ended & the lore is less densely delivered. it feels like the game is able to tell a story with the lore here, rather than having to set up so much exposition so that you understand the story
