Joe Henderson - Isotope
With McCoy Tyner on piano, Elvin Jones on drums and bassist Bob Cranshaw, the late Henderson performs a hard bop tune. Henderson's style and influence as a tenor sax player was legendary. With a unique and immediately identifiable style and sound, Henderson was a brilliant composer aside from being an amazing performer. As one critique said, "His playing made other horn players put there instruments down and just scream *)*&&". A great listen to a standard, and a period of music at it's height in the 60's and 70's Joe Henderson's Isotope is a must listen.
