yes is always the answer!!!!
HUFF HUFF OK HERE GOES
his name is yuuta and he’s an immortal shape-shifting kitsune spirit (because i’m 100% sure shape-shifters aside from aku exist in the samurai jack universe)
his kitsune form is a very large fluffy white fox with four long tails
most of the time his kitsune form looks regal and intimidating but other times he makes that really cute fox smile face you always see in photographs
when he’s in his human form he’s well over 6ft tall, has long white hair and a white beard that reaches the very top of his chest
he also wears a white and pale green wafuku kimono
a big soft boi
he likes to make jokes and play harmless tricks but he’s really a benevolent spirit
he takes care and watches over every animal and human living in his forest
though he’s gentle and kind at heart, he’s incredibly protective and won’t hesitate to rip any animal or human into shreds if he needs to
he’ll also offer shelter to lost travelers and share his secluded home with them
which is actually how he and jack first met
after jack lost his sword and started wandering without a purpose (the very purpose he supposedly abandoned) he got into a lot of fights with bandits and bounty hunters
the fight would usually start with someone taunting jack and jack losing his temper before running headfirst into a fist fight without thinking about it first
needless to say, he got banged up a lot
one day after a particularly brutal fight during a storm, he wandered into yuuta’s forest, saw him in his kitsune form, and followed him
jack briefly lost track of yuuta but when he caught up, he found him outside his home in his human form, then collapsed from exhaustion, pain, and a bad fever caused by the cold rain
yuuta took him inside and cared for him, already knowing he was THE samurai jack
it took jack a couple days to fully recuperate - both physically and mentally - but thanks to some food and yuuta’s kindness, patience, and lightheartedness, he was back on the road
however during his stay, yuuta never asked him about his sword since he knew jack was incredibly distressed about something and wasn’t ready to talk about it yet
there was even a moment when jack started quietly crying during a meal but instead of trying to get answers out of him, yuuta let him cry while rubbing his back
over the next 50 years jack continued to visit yuuta (by that point it had become somewhat therapeutic) but the gaps between each visit were getting longer and longer until jack finally realized that if he and yuuta got any closer or if he kept seeing him, he would only put his friend in even more danger
yuuta even gave him the black samurai armor we see him wearing at the beginning of the season as a way of protecting himself, which were left behind by another lost traveler
i haven’t decided whether i want their relationship to be romantic or platonic but either way they feel a lot of love for each other
sorry this got so long!!
