"Figured you might want a drink." Isra greets Dante with a small smile after she'd spotted him standing stoically by her father's car earlier that night. She's wondering what he thinks might happen to her father at a fundraiser like this. "Are you just playing chauffeur tonight?" Isra ventures, as she extends a water bottle in his direction. She casts a curious gaze towards a few other cars and drivers who are standing beside the cars in a similar fashion: stoically looking into the night, glancing at their phones or squinting at the small print of newspaper. Isra shoots him a small, wry smile, "are you all keeping each other entertained?" @dxrkenedheights

"Baba says you've been distracted all day," Isra says as she approaches her sister with two flutes of champagne. She leans in and gives Aiyla a kiss on the cheek before handing over one of the flutes. "You should look alive. You know who is here." Isra lowers her voice even if the face she makes betrays just who she's talking about. "I'll try to stick by your side but we need a codeword or something if he manages to corner you." Hakan is like a shadow, glomming onto her sister, determined to drown out all the light Aiyla has to offer and Isra will do anything to make sure that doesn't happen again.
