So I recently saw Mabel's Guide to Dating! and I found this part interesting considering what we know now:
We know from The Book of Bill that Dipper and Mabel's parents were possibly going through a divorce. So Mabel at the end saying "And if it seems like you two aren't the right fit: FORCE IT!" has a new, sadder feeling...
Being a tf fan is hard because you show your non-tf fan friends a pic of Soundwave holding Rumble and Frenzy and are like "Look at this daddy and his baby boys!" and they say "Yeah, Megatron really loves his boys, huh?"
I just got done watching the Construticon Ep and I got the say, the Autobots are sort of mean in this ep. Like these guys were just born and they are treated like something is ALREADY wrong with them! So their a little loud and rambunctious, so is Bulkead to an extent. They don't even do anything that bad and they are kicked out of the base! So they legit and newborns and HAVE NO HOME. So... of course they go to the Decepticons that treat them nicer and give them oil. They don't even really know that a war is going on! Someone just asked them to build something and they are like "Yeah okay! We like to build and help!" And yet... they are vilified for helping anyone that asks? Idk, I liked the ep not only because the animation is goes up, but this also highlights a bit of Autobot arrogance imo.
It does kind of amaze me that the Transformers: Prime team tried so very hard to make their show as not queer as possible, that they somehow ended up making one of the queerest TF shows out there.
If anyone would like to hear what I think is the difference between Functionisum and Programming in the TFA universe:
There is no difference.
It's the same thing essentially. But one sounds nicer then the other. Functionisum has a bad rep, of course, as it became clear in Cybertrons history that the idea of "Your form defines who you are." sounds pretty bad. The council recognized that it was this that lead to the war. However, they don't want to loose their means of control over the population. So how do you gain the trust of the people without getting rid of the old ways? You rebrand it.
Programming sound nicer because it sounds like an Autobot has purpose. That you were made this way inside and out, and you can be great at it if you commit to it and give it your everything. And if you can't, clearly your defective.
And programming is in everyone, even Decepticons. However, they are programmed to destroy. They are programmed to be monsters. They are programmed to be bad. That is their only programming.
Autobots are programmed to be good. Some even programmed to be heroic. So why go against your programming and become something that is evil?
Function is external, something you can reject. Programming is internal, something you can't reject. At least that's what the council wants everyone to believe.
But "You were built this way." and "You were programmed this way." sounds eerily similar, doesn't it?
