idea: untimely injuries au doc pretending to be dead or a zombie since sometimes they get so injured they look like a corpse during breaches.

Like for example Mc goes down to 049s chamber for a medkit (theres a guaranteed medkit always in there in scp containment breach) and 049 doesn't even bat an eye at their presence since they look so bloodied and zombie like he mistakens them for one of his cured patients. By the time he realizes mc has already left.

173 not snapping mcs neck since they sat on the floor looking dead enough that 173 just passes by them.

035 not bothering to use mc as a host when they sit on the floor in a similar manner. Thats a corpse, not a usable host to him and we know 035 isn't able to get into mcs mind so he wouldn't know.

D-classes avoiding mc since they look like an 008 infected person or an 049-2 instance.

Mc can just sit in a pile of blood and passing through scps or chaos insurgency members will ignore them since they think mc is just another dead body.

Mcs body is so bloody and injured no one even recognizes them. People will wonder what mc did during the breach but they just faked being dead till they could clean up and leave.

It's a really good way to avoid everyone so they keep doing it but it highkey traumatizes everyone around them asldkajsdha

It is a parody (hence the misspelling), but it did exist, and you can play it. Not that I ever have. It's played like a text adventure game, not like a Carmen game, and is based on Dante's Divine Comedy.

you mentioned that doc mc can have a pet if you want but it isn't necessarily canon and you also said doc mc is more of a cat person. To expand on this I bring the idea that doc mc had a cat for like 2 years as a kid (like ages 11 to 12) but when they were around they'd stare at mc like this everytime they died and mc knew the cat knew something but it ran away on day and they never saw it again

Few questions:

For carmen sandiego games that have multiple ports/editions, which ones would you recommend the most?

Are you the one who uploaded the vile cube on internet archive? If so why do you need to log into to download vile cube but not vile box?

Is it weird that part of me thinks the protag of word detective is a kid? Idk something about the idea of them being a kid makes the game way more interesting to me.

There's no substantial difference between the Mac and Windows/DOS versions of most games from 1991 on. Prior to that, the Mac versions were in b&w, while Windows was in color (though in the earliest games, only 2 colors). The Secret of the Stolen Drums is identical across GC/PS2/Xbox, and the NES/SNES/Genesis ports of World and Time are based on the 1991 Enhanced DOS versions. In those cases, I would say the DOS versions are likely the best, and certainly the easiest to emulate. The Deluxe versions of World and USA were effectively superseded by the CD-ROM versions, which had identical gameplay but some graphical improvements and BGM. (Whether the BGM is an improvement or a detriment is, of course, a matter of opinion.) Likewise, the 1996 "3.0" versions of World and USA were superseded by the 1998 "3.5" versions, which retained everything and added a little trivia game. The 2004 "4.0" versions ported them to Windows Vista/7 but removed some of the videos, notably the openings. Other than that, the different versions of a game (e.g., World 1986 vs. 1991/Enhanced vs. 1994/Deluxe vs. 1996/3.0 vs. Treasures of Knowledge) are entirely different. I grew up on the 1996 versions, so they're naturally my favorites, but I think most fans would say that of the 1994 versions.

Internet Archive locked down almost all downloads of console roms to logged-in users. I assume they were getting legal threats from Nintendo or somebody and thought that would put a stop to it. I have no control over it.

Well, the games were intended for kids to see themselves as the player character, so in that sense, they are a kid.

Is mcs first name juno or is the last name? I've been imagining its the last name at least for the doctor au since dr. juno has a cool ring to it but confirmation would be great

ReM MC’s canonical name is whatever you want it to be. The OC I draw for them is named Juno (last name? First name? Dunno. Pick as you like.)
