This is quite upsetting, I’m not gonna lie when she came out and said such things about Sweden it made me mad because she knew that after her comments on Zika all eyes were on her, but I undertand the frustration and the heat of the moment. Hope is outspoken, she’s been characterized for her strong personality and for always speaking her mind out so of course she was gonna give her thoughts on such a shitty the game. Her words weren’t the right ones, not for an athlete with her experience, she acted like a sore looser and she even admitted that herself. She was upset and many of us were. Why ? Because Ellis fucked the game up, because we were out of the tournament with no fucking medal. I agree, her actions didn’t reflect a great sportsmanship that’s true and no one should deny that, she was speaking out of anger and pure frustration but at the end of the day she was doing what she always does SPEAKING HER MIND OUT.. The consequences of her suspension are gonna be big, yes Hope Solo has a bunch of haters and shit talkers who believe this is fair and that she had it coming, but she also has true fans who no matter what are gonna stand by her. USWNT prepare yourself to see them numbers drop, because although you have two miserable games coming up I doubt people are gonna want to support a federation that is built on lies and inequalities. As a fan I’m beyond upset because a legend shouldn’t be treated like this, I agree she needs certain type of punishment for her actions, I even agree with a temporary suspension but half a year plus on top of that a contract termination? Sunil you just fucked things up. Male players in other leagues don’t get suspended for such ridiculous things. Im sorry but this is way too much I certainly didn’t see anyone complaining when Hope saved our asses in many occasions, I didn’t see anyone throwing shade at her when she reached she 100 shoutouts or when she broke any type of record. Fandom let’s not forget she’s a human being, we all make mistakes the difference is that many of us aren’t public figures so noone really cares if we fuck up or not, lets show her love and compassion like we did with CP.. Hope Solo is the number one GK in the world and none is gonna take that away from her. We all knew her retirement was coming and I believe her career deserves a better ending, this couldn’t be it. For me this is history repeating its self, as sad as it sounds this is 2007 all over again. Its the federation, the teammates and half of the world against Solo. But she’ll survive and we will see her rise once more. Truth is this federation is the only reason why theres such an unequal ground between men and women’s soccer.
