Two Flips of a Coin Demonetization

Good day my friends, I have been writing and reading about Demonetization for quite a sometime. I have been a strong supporter of this move by our honorable Prime Minister.

For everything we have either good or bad opinions. On a similar lines Demonetization is taking its course. On one side you have set of people strongly in favor of it and then others not in favor.

I being a common man thought of it putting it clearly without any bias of what has worked and what has not.  I have documented it my real time experiences for certain Thumbs Up or down.

The biggest impact of it is felt on the so called Terrorist Group. Every one of them has been put on a IV drip as all have suffered from Diarrhea:)

Disturbances in Jammu & Kashmir have almost Zeroed down, why no one accept old currency for throwing the stones, paid stone pelters

The so called King of Real estates are having toughest of tough time. Let me quote an example here from my personal experience. I am looking for a flat in Panchkula, and we have this  society newly built whose possession has been given to people recently. Look at the conversation I had with one of the Real estate agents before and after

Conversation before Demonetization.

The price for the flat was quoted as 10 Million Rupees for a 3 BHK flat.

Me: How much white and black you are expecting?

King: Oh sir why are you worried, you can give as much black as you want!

Me: Seriously? All I have is white money.

King: oh yes sir I can convert black to white and vice-versa. Do not worry, first choose the flat. No bargaining 10 million flat.

Conversation after Demonetization.

Me: Hello sir, how are you? (Smiling from inside).

King: Okay sir

Me: What is the price these days?

King: Sir 9.5 million rupees.

Me: Negotiable? (Laughing from inside)

King: Yes sir, please visit us that we can manage.

Me: How much black and how much white?

King: Sir only white:)

Me: Why, you were adjusting black money earlier

King: Sir please no more jokes, my life has already been f****d by Mr Modi.

10+ Billion of Rupees in form of cash and Gold has been recovered. I am reading daily about the income tax department raids, without Demonetization it would not have been possible.

Cheaper home loan and reduction in income tax slab is expected soon.

Demonetization Thumbs Down

Cash availability is the biggest challenge which we are facing. Situation is improving but at a very slow pace.  It is a complete failure on the planning of the Government.

Unemployment is the another side effect of Demonetization as small scale industries are facing cash crunch. This is one of the thing which I actually don’t like. Demonetization leading to unemployment should be a cause for concern. We can avoid this if small scale industries are given extra cash flow to basically keep going.

Demonetization has impacted almost all sector with Retail, Automobile and Real estate the most. People are spending money only on necessary things not the other ones.

I will be revisiting this experience from time to time to keep it relevant to the experience.
