This is one of my recent projects, I finished listening to the It devours! audiobook and was obsessed, then I go thrifting and I find a yellow jacket. I knew what I had to do.....
Now it might look small on the hanger because the jacket is cropped, but I promise it's the size of my entire back lmao
Bonus pictures of me wearing the jacket!!! I even made those fishnet gloves just so I could wear them with this :3
pictures of individual patches below cut, plus silly rambles !!
so i thrifted these pants for theatre, cause the only tech black pants i had was a skirt, and then literally the day after i got them i cut a hole into the knee while cutting yarn. i have never cut a hole into my clothes before, despite the fact i crochet all the time and therefore use sharp small scissors all the time,,, anyway. i decided to put a centipede patch over the hole rather than just sew it up, cause i thought it’d be a quick fun project (famous last words). this took me So Long. it also was not supposed to Be an it devours! project, it just sort of. became that.
i was not ORIGINALLY going to do it in patchwork, then while raiding my mom’s fabric stash, i saw that she had lots of interesting patterns and textures. just cutting (and fray proofing! most of these pieces needed to be fray proofed, and i only had old clear nail polish on hand) took FOREVER. and then the legs,,,, i spent i don’t even know how long on the legs. there were three days at LEAST where that was pretty much the only thing i did. if i ever have to do a chain stitch again,,,, i also freehanded all of them. fun!!!!
i did the sun all in one night, and tbh the split stitches were probably the most fun thing i did on this project^_^
Carlos, Night Vale's top scientist, assigns Nilanjana to investigate the mysterious rumblings in the desert wasteland. There she discovers the Joyous Congregation of the Smiling God. What could go wrong?https://www.welcometonightvale.com/books#itdevours

my bitch ass spouse who wrote the book about throwing the book at those who don’t do it by it 👎
[ID: Several drawings of Sheriff Sam from Welcome To Night Vale. They have long curly red hair, sharp canines, yellow eyes, makeup, gold hoop earrings and a faint moustache.
Drawing one is of them from the waist up, one arm crossed and the other on their chest. Sam is smiling with their teeth and frowning, looking to the side. They are wearing a light blue blazer over a black bralette, with a hot pink cowboy hat, jewellery and fingerless heart-patterned leather gloves, as well as a uniform cape and sheriff’s badge.
Drawing two shows Sam lounging on Cecil’s sofa with their legs crossed. They are wearing a pink fluffy cowboy hat, pink heart patterned cowboy boots, ripped jeans, a tasseled cyan jacket and a fishnet shirt. Their expression is incredulous but bemused. Text reads:
“You need a warrant to do that.”
“I’m the Sheriff, not a vampire! I can enter a house without permission, thank you!”
Drawing three is from a scene in the book ‘It Devours!’. Sam is standing idly leaning on their shotgun with a hand in their pocket, looking bored and slightly irritated as they speak. Nilanjana Sikdar, a short, fat, Indian woman wearing a labcoat and active clothes is standing next to them, looking at them in disbelief and confusion. Behind them a building-sized centipede is climbing over a row of houses and something is on fire. Text reads:
Sam: “Well, I’m afraid we’ve tried everything. There doesn’t seem to be a way to stop it.”
Nilanjana: “You only tried shooting it.”
Sam: “Yes. As I just said, everything. Terrible blow, but it just seems our best efforts aren’t going to be enough. The town had a good run though, eh?”
Sam is wearing a black and red midi skirt, a dark red blazer with a fur collar, cowboy boots, a transparent turtleneck shirt and a black cowboy hat embellished with a red rose, as well as jewellery.
Spoiler warning for It Devours! and kind of wtnv ig
This is a question for people who are caught up in wtnv or who have the answer.
I'm not very far into wtnv because I took a break for a while, I'm at like 150 but I have read it Devours. In It Devours it talks about how Carlos was actually stuck in the desert otherworld for 10 years to him rather than the 1 every one else experiences. Does it ever mention that in the actual podcast?? Does Cecil ever get to find out? Are people who don't read the book just left out of that tidbit?
