hii! thank you for sending, lovely ♥️ (warning: ugly old draft, i wrote it the day my dog died and it took a bit for me to get back to it)
🐈 theo’s cat (thiam)
Liam walked out of the kitchen and saw Theo sitting on the couch. The TV wasn’t on, so Liam snooped around to see what Theo was doing, curious as he was, and found him sitting on the couch sleeping. An open book with the cover facing up on his belly (add book's name AND Liam making fun of him, like, of course Theo reads that kind of stuff.), his head resting on the top of the sofa, his lips slightly parted, not snoring, but his lips were a little wet, his hair was falling to the side, due to the position of his head, one arm slung at his side and the other around Athena, the cat Theo had rescued a while ago when he was coming home from work and had brought home, with Jenna and David’s full permission, who never let Liam adopt a dog, but the moment Theo discovered the cat’s existence, he had full permission to bring it home.
This was the kind of nagging that drove Liam crazy, because of course the perfect, polite and amazing Theo, a chimera of death, could take care of a cat in his house, but Liam was too irresponsible to have a pet.
Today in "awkward reasons why a character doesn't want a hug":
She shook her head. It was too weird with him being the alleged reason and attempted solution to much — most — of her sorrow.
Montrose Pretty Character Design dropped.
Image Description: A landscape format character sheet depicting Montrose Pretty from the Adventure Zone Steeplechase. Montrose is a white middle ages man with a rather round face. His maskless face shows brown eyebrows and eyes. His Hardlight Mask depicts a neutral smile face with cyan eyes staring slightly off center into the distance. The smile shows teeth, that are just every so slightly too detailed to be comfortable. The mask is shaded with soft smooth transitions, almost as if airbrushed badly in photoshop. The rest of Montrose is drawing in vibrant colours with bold black shadows and patterns in reference to popular pop art. Casual Montrose wears a cyan shirt and a pink tie in combination with blue trousers. Black and White Montrose wears a grayscale outfit in reference to Darkwing Duck, the fodder of the cape and hat is vibrant purple.
Artist commentary:
references: Real Life Dolls (don't look them up), Yesterday (Studio Ghibli), Casual Pop Art Tropes, 90s Arcade colours image search, Darkwing Duck
I tried to focus on the uncanny valley/unsettling aspect of the mask. The mask does not emote. The mask does not move with the face. The mask is see-through for Montrose, so from his side he can see through the Mask without issue. The mask is projected onto his face with the help of his hardlight earplugs.

a comic that becomes increasingly cryptic as it goes on. filled with symbolism
in adv fiction writing class, we’re writing a flash fiction piece in an imitation style that we found in the library, so i’m doing a quiz and the quiz is called “are you gay” and i’m in that weird balance of hmmm how much internalized homophobia do i dump on my teacher 🤔
i am really pushing to get this scene i am on done to update the demo, but, folks, let me tell you
this is the first conversation that involves so many characters and there’s a lot to squeeze in there
