In flower garden gossip the violas are all talking about the tulips and the freesias, they are budding and will soon add more colour and fragrance to the garden. The rain has flattened and bent a lot of the blooms but those little violas have held their own in the wet weather. The lawn squelches loudly under foot and is a soft lush green. But the big garden news of the week is that a pair of blackbirds are nesting in the Hebe outside the living room window, so cool to sit and watch them building. One of the blackbirds imitates the sound of a telephone ringing when it sings, it is quite hard case hearing a phone ringing in the tree.
