They all live in a town called Wimberly, but Cassian lives in the woods 30 minutes outside of town, which is up on a hill alongside this mountain called Hawthorne’s Peak. There’s a lot of like superstitions about the mountain, even one that’s like if you reach the top with a partner you’ll be together forever so a lot of couples will hike there and propose. Even ones where if you reach the peak, you’ll have a wish come true or something will be forgiven, so there’s a lot of hikers coming with some form of grievance or goal.
The town of Wimberly is full of like... I don’t know, small town weirdos.
Cassian is an architect, but mostly does small renovations for the town (he doesn’t want to leave this place ever, doesn’t have big ambitions). Azriel has a number of odd jobs, because he can’t settle on one (he has a fear of commitment). One of which was that he was trained to be a paramedic but then quit. He now runs a security company for like 70% of the time. But pretty much he’s here and there. Rhys runs a business in the city but has this home for vacations. They all technically live in the same house, and made this house together whether they live in it full time or part time. They’re childhood bestfriends but they call each other brothers since they’ve been raised together.
Emerie is Cassian’s cousin. She has a small cabin not too far from their house, but she works in town and owns a coffeeshop/bar/bookstore. This town doesn’t have too many residents so many of the places are used for multiple things. Gwyn is the doctor who runs the clinic in town and is really the only doctor there. Her sister Catrin in this, is a kid sister that she takes care of instead of a Twin in canon, who’s pretty loud mouthed and tends to like Azriel a lot.
Devlon is a convenient store owner and is one of the only two gas stations in this town. His is closer towards the mountain and the other is leaving the town and going in the opposite direction. He used to be a camp counselor, but when his wife died he stopped and basically now only does this. He’s super grumpy. But he was a camp counselor for the bat boys.
Feyre and Elain are not in the story early, because this is an amnesia fic and Nesta doesn’t know who she is. But basically they’re rich... or presumed to be at least. City girls and honestly live probably on the other side of the country.
Mor... I have no idea. I think she’s a city girl and tends to go back and forth because she technically grew up in another small town next to Wimberly called Foreston. Foreston is where the Vanserras live and also where Emerie is visiting at the start of this fic. It’s by coincidence that they meet each other and hang out (because they don’t do that usually). But Cassian knows Mor well because of course she’s still Rhys’ cousin. Still Moremerie, but Mor is definitely too close to Cassian at some point so Nesta does sort of take this to mean that Mor and Cassian are together, which they’re not.
Nesta ends up working with Emerie while they figure out who she is. She keeps going to see Gwyn because she starts getting nightmares and she can’t sleep and she still has no memory. Cassian is like overly fond of her, and is like committed to her wellbeing because he’s the one who finds her in the woods. Also he’s like attached. They’re all like what is this puppy love and he’s like... stop talking, I’m not in love, just being a good person and friend and they’re like... whatever you say.
They do have a romance little by little.
BUT the plot of this of course is that Nesta gets hurt because she’s running away from Tomas when he tries to murder her unsuccessfully during their honeymoon because he wants her inheritance. So she’s obviously not dead, and he tries to come back to finish the job. So not only does she not know who she is or how she got injured, she also has a bunch of near misses because of Tomas.
So there you go... you see that I write random shit and I make up too many details of fics I barely write. Though I am writing this one or at least the first chapter since it’s already 2000 words.
