Guys I’m tired. I defended my prelim and proposed my dissertation. I am now running my dissertation which means I have kudos of therapy clients. I’m still doing an externship at the hospital. I just had my friend over for a week. I’m so tired.

Guys I really don’t like the summer. I like it maybe for one week and then I want it to be fall because I get to see all my friends and I get my routines back. I’ve hated summer since I was in middle school and so now I’m like what do I do with this season?

the thing about media literacy is that understanding why the author chose to specify that the curtains are blue is the same skill set as understanding that the way the author characterizes all black characters as angry or all chinese characters as meek and silent is racist. it is the same skill set as being able to identify when a news source is biased or when someone is feeding you propaganda. the ability to ask "why did this person choose to present this premise in this specific way?" is a critical skill in a world full of misinformation. why are the curtains blue? maybe it's a characterization detail. maybe it's extraneous worldbuilding. why is this character written as being right all the time? maybe you're intended to disagree with them. maybe it doesn't matter. maybe you should still ask why.

Update about my dating life: I don’t think I like men in any way shape or form. Don’t have a fondness for them. Don’t find them entertaining. Think they’re incredibly dull. Most of them I think are not good looking. And several of them have never spoken to another human being before. What can I say? I gave it more than the old college try and… I’d rather be by myself. I ain’t gonna lie. I really think I’d prefer it that way.

Bonus: The aftermath

Not theories about Elain using the Harp to world-walk.

First off, I don't care if Elain is Made, if she were going to wield the Dread Trove, then she would have been the one to find the Dread Trove. Nesta found the Dread Trove, and more than that, the items have chosen her. Nesta said herself that the Dread Trove answers to her, obeys her - not Elain. Bryce said the Harp was left for a Starborn - not a Made individual - to find. The Harp was left in the Starborn chamber, which Elain has never even stepped foot in and there's no evidence to suggest that she could anyways. Nesta literally woke up the Harp from its 15,000 year slumber. Nesta found the Harp on former Dusk Court territory during an unintentional scrying, during the Dusk service, in which she heard the sound of the Dusk Court and saw what the land used to be. Starborn/Harp/Dusk Court/Valkyrie all belong to the same person: Nesta.

Secondly, why would Elain world-walk? She has no tie-in to another world. She has no friends or alliances in another world. You know who has both of those, though? Nesta. Nesta's silver flames already tie her in to both ToG and CC, and Nesta has already befriended, created an alliance with, and saved a whole other world. Nesta also has so many parallels with ToG and CC characters. Nesta also has Death-Maiden powers just like Yrene (ToG) and Bryce (CC). Nesta also seems to be watched by the Prince of the Pit and the Prince of the Chasm of Hel. Then there's the fact that Amren told Nesta when she erupted to make sure all worlds felt it. Cassian said he would find Nesta in another world. Bryce said all worlds shuddered when Nesta's hand passed into Midgard to give her the Mask.

I'm not saying Elain won't be important, but if any character is going to use the Harp to world-walk, it's going to be Nesta.

Nesta's clearly getting a POV for the next three books considering everyone loves stealing from her story arc/plot points.

Yall thought you seen the last of me but I just thought of something outrageous. You know how I made bryaxis into a cat in my fics well let’s just say Nesta transforms Bryaxis into some sort of fae and guess what? She’s beautiful obviously. Dark hair. Dark eyes. Sensuous and shadowy. (She can still transform back to her monsterous self). Nesta (obviously bi) thinks of a hot person when she transforms her. Bryaxis immediately wants to thank Nesta and feels some sort of connection with her because of her power. If you’re not getting what I’m laying down, they bang bang bang. And maybe Cassian joins or something cause I guess he can’t be left out. They are mates and all.
