People always act like Fred and George not noticing Peter Pettigrew is some sort of plot hole while in fact it's easily explainable:

1) They don't spy on Ron all night (why would they even do that?) they have better things to like sleeping for example

2) Even if they saw the name, they probably didn't notice it because they don't know who exactly Pettigrew is and they just assumed it's one the hundreds of students

3) Pettigrew probably didn't spend all night sleeping next to Ron especially when he's aware Sirius is after him (we literally have a scene where Ron wakes up screaming bcs he saw someone (Sirius) holding a knife over his head). So he wandered around the castle a tad.

There are explanations for it actually. And no Harry Potter is not riddled with plot holes. It's all in the books.

Obsessed with the idea that Constance spells Milligan's name as "Millagain" for YEARS until someone finally notices because she also knew the story and just. assumed that that was how he spelt his name.

Which reminds me I was thinking of writing one where Spock didn't join Starfleet but it's SNW Spock and he goes to Earth for like an exchange program and then Kirk is grounded because he flipped out after Tycho IV and he's tasked with making sure Sarek's son has a good time but otherwise I don't have a "plot" so much as I like imagining that version of Spock in a leather moto jacket which is KIND Of a plot right???
