OUGGHHH FAYE GAME
that's my GOAT❗❗
I love Hundred Line so much I know I need to sleep because I'm close to tearing up about it while thinking about nothing in particular but my god. I just love it. Some of Kodaka's best writing in there. I'd argue also some of his best characters but ymmv. There's so many scenarios I still want to see, maybe someday I'll be sick of it but if they really keep it going for 10 years it'll be amazing in its own fucked up unique way, and I wouldn't have it any other way
how am i only now finding out about this...
STARTING WITHHHHHHHHH…. XIGERIS!!!!!!! as he’s the one I’m more familiar with!!!!!! ^_^ we don’t have a lot of information on what he’s like personally as he is canonically deceased…… (so a lot of how I view him is more interpretation/theorizing, which I can get into too, im just establishing the canon material!) BUTTTT.
we do know that as described from ctesias in the coat of arms dream that he is “an ill-tempered young man” which holds up with the dialogue in tidal locking here. it’s very clear he harbors much resentment not only towards nashatra herself but the world as a whole (and presumably by extension the rose seekers especially). we don’t know if there was any buildup towards this hatred before he even was entangled with any of the rose seekers & nashatra but the possibility could be there…
now this is something I don’t see talked about much (which is a shame!!!) but I find it to be very good food for thought when it comes to xigeris as a character because of the implications with the possible Midas parallel and the significance of the repeated description of “banal” (something that is extremely obvious/boring/cliche) ^_^
to confess your own undoing by your own hands (if we are to assume that xigeris’s fate is similar to Midas where it was brought upon by himself in a way) would have redirected the story of pride and greed that has been told over and over by now… and for a moment, at some point, xigeris himself could have prevented his own doom this way??? yet, the confession is something trivial and meaningless. salvation is not sought when there was the time and it never can be again. there is no growth and no change.
which aligns with how xigeris remains only likely a spirit by the time we see him.
being a nashatra fan and a xigeris fan at the same time is tragic 💔💔they are FIGHTINGGGG (probably more on xigeris’s end though)
HOLY PEAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKK THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME...i wonder why he hates them so much apart from "not being chosen"....ALSO THE MIDAS PARALLEL IS SO NEAT OH MY GOD
EVERYBODY gotta watch Footage From An Afterlife by squiddo NOW!!!
