I was talking to a friend once who’s not in this fandom, and I was saying “yeah, i get why people like widojest but it’s not really my ship, I actually prefer fjorester” (but like I also love widofjord so i was conflict, hence discussion)

i love (read: hate lmao) how it’s like a Thing in the ~classical violin community~ to go on youtube and try to act Sophisticated by commenting that they prefer a heavily flawed performance by one player over a stunningly precise performance by another.

like. Roman Kim’s performances of literally anything are absolutely flawless and his interpretations are lively and carefree.

but then somebody will go to a video of a different performer playing the same piece with scratchy notes, sloppy string crosses, imprecise shifts, and they’ll comment like
