oh that ending was exactly it. like sure it’s not perfect: they’re not fully out or accepted but sometimes that’s what it is. you slowly wear people (i.e the parents mostly) down until they give in and that takes time. and they had inkpaa as the lovely canon queer relationship accepted by all, so i don’t think the show was saying that you had to stay in the closet to have love. just that, sometimes things take time.
