Let's talk about The 100
If you follow me on my personal blog, you’re well aware that I’ve fallen down a deep, dark hole called The 100. If you’re not watching it, you’re missing out. Also, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING NOT WATCHING IT? It’s so good, guys. It will destroy you ten ways to Sunday, but it’s so worth it.
These characters have undergone so much growth and/or change in only eighteen episodes. It’s so refreshing to see real, honest character growth like this. Bellamy Blake is the prime of example of this. I did not like him at first—and not just because his hair was terrible in the pilot. But, whoa baby, look at me now. I’m in love with him. I’m in love with a fictional character that was born and raised in space. WHO AM I? What did this show do to me?
Bell’s not the only one going through major change, but he’s the most important. Like I said, everyone has gone through so much to become who they are in the current episodes. They’ve grown together or apart, they’ve fought and loved, they’ve made friends and enemies. And I just cannot wait to see more of this. I need to know what’s coming and what other changes could be next.
You want to talk about ships? I can talk about ships for days. Bellamy Blake and Clarke Griffin—aka Bellarke—are the leaders of the pack and their burgeoning friendship (hopefully soon to be love affair) keeps me wanting so much more. I love a good ship that starts off with the two characters hating each other. It’s so much fun—and so painful—to see them grow to love each other. Okay, maybe Bellamy and Clarke don’t love each other… Yet. But they will. Just you wait and see.
There’s even more ships to love. Or, ship to love. I’m all about Octavia and Lincoln. I love them both and they are causing me so much pain. I need good news. FOR EVERYONE.
I just want them all to be happy and safe. But I also want to continue watching them fight—each other and grounders and anyone else who might come along. I want to continue to watch them grow. I want Jasper and Monty to be best friends forever. I want more Raven and more Wick. I want more Lincoln. I want more Bellamy and Clarke. I want so much from this show, but I’m also willing to take whatever it has to offer.
