another idea for an Item Swap AU is for Ryou to have the Millennium Tauk/Necklace. he’s a lot less exhausted and more self-confident because of his future-sight abilities (and the lack of a vengeful ghost piloting his body into danger). it makes him a vicious DM for monster world but he’s possibly even more popular than in the canon. he’s still shy, still loves the occult, still loves plaid, the bastard, and in this universe probably does most of the moving the plot
more itemswap! i like the idea of marik having the millennium puzzle, because since his clan had been guarding the millennium items and the pharaoh’s legacy, it’d be really interesting if he ended up being the pharaoh’s reincarnation. i especially like the idea of the pharaoh being a violent and loud troublemaker who gave his vessel really terrible ideas
more itemswap au, this time with isis ishtar! i like the idea of her having the ring (largely because I wish she’d gotten more screentime) considering I gave Marik the puzzle. she’s the same protective and wise influence to her brothers, but is unaware of the darker presence manifesting in her heart that wants to take revenge on the pharaoh responsible to destroying her life--the modern day vessel of which is someone she holds dear. also, i guess yami isis is not a new idea and i’m so down with it???
