i don't usually write anything, but here's a review of a thing!
a review about a butler cafe on one of a game and comic con event, to be precise. i don't usually bother writing about stuff, and i usually just reblog random stuff, but i really need to get this written to make sure it's really happening and i'm not being delirious.
first thing first, the butler cafe in questioned, is called platina parlour and they're opening up during a con called ITGCC (Indonesian Toy, Game, and Comic Convention).
basically, the whole thing started when one of my friend asked if i want to go, because they're opening an online reservation thing. so yes, we decided to reserve a spot for three.
skipping the whole pre-day panicking now, and moving on to the day of the event.
we arrived with hours (two hours?) to spare, so we confirm our reservation, do a lucky draw thing (which, surprise! i'm not lucky at all) and start wandering around the con. i took a picture with batman, and regret not ambushing deadpool while i had the chance.
fast forward almost an hour, wandering aimlessly, i spotted what looked to be several finely-dressed men walking and immediately i managed to identify them as the butlers of platina parlour. and being the creepy spazz that i am, i had to be restrained by my two companions to prevent me from unconsciously following those finely-dressed angelic looking men that looked like they're sculpted in image of michelangelo's david or something.
skip a few minutes later, we're lining up to enter the parlour and i'm trying to sneak a peek of the inside. when my friend's name were called, like the overexcited hormonal little kid that i am, i immediately took my part at the front of our group. the curtains were drawn, and we're immediately greeted by eight incredibly gorgeous-looking specimens. some (including our assigned butler) were lined up in an orderly fashioned, equipped with their charming smiles that left me a puddle of feels.
our assigned butler is called shuu, and he offered to carry our bags, and escorted us to our table. yes, he even pulled the chairs for us (and cut up our donuts to small pieces so we won't eat like a barbaric creatures that i secretly am). small introductions were made and he left to go get our orders. and yes, this is where all my pretend composure went out the window. while both my companion simply facepalmed thanks to giddiness, the complete spazz that i am, i went the full on weirdo and slowly (not slowly at all) laid my head on the table (there's a violent thud where my head met the table). and despite our butler not witnessing the display of weirdness, other butlers probably witnessed it, so yay me.
the conversations with shuu were a blur now because i can't remember a thing. there's a lot of me saying, "oh, shuu you're so sweet/cute/adorable/pretty." which i felt like 'yeah, that's smooth. i'm a well-oiled smooth talking machine, yep.' until shuu, the equally smooth talking adorable shuu, managed to turn the table around by complimenting me with that adorable little giggle that he did and cue me swooning, like, SWOON. big time. we gave shuu a daisy flower crown my friend made, apologizing profusely because the flower wilted during our quite long car trip. i get to put the thing on shuu's head and i'm internally screaming because 'whaaaaaat' and we decided that shuu is officially the long long long long (he used a lot of longs i lost count) lost brother of legolas and the newly-crowned elven prince.
another bit that i managed to remember was when my friend asked shuu if rei (the butler occupying the table next to us) ever smiled. shuu asked rei if he would smile for us, rei shook his head, and i decided to go all, "awww rei, come on!" which earned me a look from the pouting/frowning purple-haired butler.
we also managed to have one of the new butler, daiki (a favorite of my friend) introduce himself to us (in a little over ten seconds, because yes, congratulatios daiki, you're very punctual), which followed by my friend staring at him and pining away for the remainder of our time.
we managed to have shuu and another butler, sei do a smile off. because shuu insisted that sei has a better smile, which i blatantly disagree. but i did call sei (and shuu) pretty, so no one's ego were bruised too badly.
we played a matchstick puzzle game. shuu laid out the matchsticks to form an equation, 1+2-3=199 and we have to solve that by moving one matchstick to create a proper equation. this took a while because none of us are particularly good at math and numbers. which apparently, shuu isn't THAT particularly good either, because that was a game that rei had taught him. several tries were made and none successful. we reluctantly gave up and shuu made a comment about "(me) would probably think i'm cheating if i tell her the answer." yes, yes you are absolutely correct, shuu! anyway, the answer is...
shuu moved one matchstick from the + sign and create a 4, which turned the equation to 142-3=199. we didn't realized the error of that equation until we got into the car home that 142-3 does not equal 199 but 139.
... so shuu, did you get the equation wrong????
overall, we had a wonderful time and shuu is incredible. and no. no, shuu you're not a useless butler. and you're definitely my uber absolute favorite, you adorable little angel. we gave sei a leftover slightly wilting daisies we had and shuu gently put it on sei's pocket. so yes, now they match.
again, it was wonderful. and i will be stalking platina parlour's facebook page and (not-so) patiently waiting for their next event, where i swear i will be there and booked multiple time slot. (and probably requesting for shuu as well). because you know, FAVORITE.
oh, and because platina parlour has an otome game concept thing, i think i might have gotten the good ending because shuu gave me a tiny box with a yellow lotus brooch and told me to open it when i was out of the parlour. it has a little shuu phone strap under the lotus brooch.
ps. I'M SO SORRY SHUU, I LEFT THE LITTLE SHUU THING EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE REMIND ME TO NOT FORGET LITTLE SHUU LIKE TWICE? but hey, little shuu turned into a phone strap?
