That time Szarvas had to explain to Ithqaras that he was attacked by thousands of regular degular spiders though.
Itqaras did not change the way they appeared to the bloodline they bonded to; these children were shut off from the outside world and did not know to be afraid of a spirit that was formed to look a nightmare. Ithqaras cared deeply for these mortal children from the material plane, doing more than simply guiding them to better lives, but actively protecting them.
I have been sketching designs for Szarvas' quori, as I'm playing him in the third D&D campaign I've played with the same DM now. If you don't like insectile things it is time to bail on me. This was just a rough sketch I slapped colors on, but I don't think I intend to revisit it, so I'm going to toss it up here!
