Pumpkin Soup. In honor of the last few days of fall. My body is still seeking warm, hydrating foods, to off set the drying out and cooling off that occurs in autumn. I am going to add lots of good FATS like butter, coconut cream, and chicken based bone broth filled with collagen. I will add more warmth with ginger and cayenne. I will add tummy soothing spices to increase my metabolism during the holiday sweet treat onslaught, like coriander, cumin, and fennel seed. This is how I think about foods. You dont need recipes. Sure look up how to roast said pumpkin, but truly think first about what qualities your body needs. If you want to continue the drying pattern because it feels good to you body, nix the coconut and add cinnamon and lots of black pepper. If you are hot and feel good to be cool again, keep the coconut nix the ginger and bone broth, add in apples and top with yogurt and cilantro. Maybe enjoy as a chilled soup ohhhh... Listen to your body, for it is a genius. #bodywisdom When it gets cold tonight I am gonna pop this pumpkin whole into the oven and let it roast for an hour. Then Ill turn the oven off and prop the door open. By tomorrow it will be cool enough to handle and i can pop all the ingredients in a pot blend with my immersion blender and simply warm it all up for a fantastic breakfast in under 30 mins. #itisntthatcomplicated freeze half in single portions for those busy days. #autumnwinterecipes #thisisayurveda
