The "I, Too, Am Harvard" photo campaign explores the diverse experience that black students at Harvard have to face. Here are 21 of the images.
In the Pittsburgh Public School system, CAS stands for Center for Advanced Studies. In CAS classes students of color are often the minority. As a student of color in CAS, I know that the issue of diversity is rarely addressed and our input to the conversation on race is often unheard. For my long term project this year I decided to start a dialogue about race, and give fellow students of color a way to share their experiences and voice their opinions. This is the Pittsburgh Public High Schools’ expansion of Kimiko Matsuda-Lawrence’s photo campaign I, Too, Am Harvard to show that We, Too, Are CAS.
Huge thanks to everyone who participated!

Tbh I really like the #itooamharvard awareness going around because I never even thought of applying to Harvard cause people around me always said, "yo, you have to have like six brained to get into Harvard." It never crossed my mind as I school that me, as a person of color, could get in. I lessens my goals because I thought it would be easier for myself, but now I'm thinking about applying. If I don't get in I don't, but I would've tried.
So I was reading this article about a man whose daughter just got accepted into Harvard and then I noticed this. This made me so bloody angry like why the fuck would her skin colour be even slightly relevant to the fact that she got accepted into the best university in the world this is utter bullshit. All brains are the same colour have you ever seen a black brain? Or a white brain?. 2015 has been so full of racism violence and I am seriously tired of this shit when will we learn that WE. ARE. ALL. THE. SAME. There are stupid whites, there are stupid blacks, we're all just normal people so why make all the effort because making a fuss about racism is a lot more exhausting than simply accepting each other. I have to say that this guy is an arse and a total stupid maggot. I hope his "white" Harvard daughter is smarter than this. itooamharvard
