thirst trap 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽
Any time conversation lulls in my household i bust out the "IF YOU COULD ALLOW YOUR ANGER TO SUBSIDE FOR A MOMENT YOU'LL SEE THAT THEY DID NOT DIE IN VAIN- THE ROMULANS WILL ENTER THE WAR!!! THERE'S NO GUARANTEE OF THAT!! OH BUT I THINK THAT THERE IS! YOU SEE, WHEN THE TAL SHIAR FINISHES EXAMINING THE WRECKAGE OF VREENAK'S SHUTTLE, THEY'LL FIND THE BURNT REMNANTS OF A CARDASSIAN OPTOLYTHIC DATA ROD WHICH SOMEHOW MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVED THE EXPLOSION" etc monologue off the cuff. If only i could use my autism for something useful.
That’s why you came to me, isn’t it, Captain? Because you knew I could do those things that you weren’t capable of doing.

My friends @the-last-dillpickle and @wanderingwriter87 made a very important post connecting the dots between Heathers and Star Trek DS9 "In the Pale Moonlight" a few months ago and I have been extremely unwell about it ever since

New Book Cover Art Reveal
Hey friends and fictional folk!
Behold! The cover art for my next novel!
That's right, I've got a new book coming out this year! That may seem surprising given that I just published my debut novel, Strike the Match, last autumn but I always have more than one project going at any given time.
This book, In The Pale Moonlight, is not a sequel to Strike the Match but instead book 1 for its own series, The Young Reaper Saga. This series will explore the adventures of Steven, a grim reaper in training, as he goes up against everything the afterlife has to throw at him. Unlike the Matchstick Girl series which is more classical fantasy, The Young Reaper Saga is an urban fantasy set roughly during the modern day, though mostly set in the afterlife of said modern day.
Now don't worry, I'm not abandoning Enya or her crew. I am, as we speak, hard at work putting the finishing touches on the first draft of The Matchstick Girl book 2 and, with a bit of luck, I can hopefully have that book ready to launch later this year or early 2026.
The reason I'm publishing In The Pale Moonlight as my next book is essentially to diversify my portfolio. I don't want to fall into the trap of becoming known for only writing one series or one kind of book. I want to show my range as an author and prepare you all for how my style might change between series, genres, age ranges, etc.
I'll have more information for you all as I get closer to figuring out a set release date but until then be sure to show some love for my wonderful cover artist, Christina Myrvold (https://christinapm.artstation.com/) and enjoy the full wraparound illustration of the cover art over on my website!
