THIS! And you think its bad now you should have seen it months ago. It wasn't until I made about 20 posts ranting about it that they mysteriously started to disappear. Also I have lots of ppl blocked due to this. The constant hate for JONATHAN of all ppl is just absurd

I think Rick just did a little research on Greek classics, found Hamartia and thought "ha, every hero has one", neglecting that only the tragic heroes have them (in fact, Hamartia is usually translated as tragic flaw, not fatal flaw).

If we're talking Hamartia, of the demigods in PJO, only Luke and Silena, and maybe Bianca and Zöe, have one, because they are the only ones to actually meet a tragic end as a consequence of their actions (maybe Jason as well, but I don't actually know how exactly he died because I haven't read any of Rick's books since SoN, because I didn't like the direction it was taking)

NGL 90% of Rick's mythos/historical references read like he grabbed one of those basic collections, skimmed it, and incorporated it all without further research.

So... Wouldn't surprise me
