Air-Fryer Cremation

The workshop is eerily quiet as Tory stands next to a tarp-covered object. Grant and Kari walk in, their expressions immediately shifting to unease as they notice Tory’s suspiciously excited grin.

Kari: (nervous but trying to remain upbeat) "What’s under the tarp, Tory?"

Tory: (beaming, hands on hips) "Okay, so you know how we’re testing if you can cremate a body in a homemade air fryer?"

Grant: (pausing mid-step, wary and raising his eyebrow) "Uh, yeah. I thought we were using a pig carcass or something… right?"

Tory dramatically whips off the tarp, revealing a rotting human corpse.

Kari screams, and Grant drops his coffee mug, shattering it on the floor.

Kari: (horrified) "Tory! What the hell is that?!"

Tory: (defensively) "Relax! It’s totally legit. I… borrowed it from a guy who owes me a favor."

Grant: (adjusting his glasses, deadpan) "Please tell me you didn’t get this from the dark web."

Tory: (smiling nervously) "Why does everyone keep saying that? It’s for science!"

Kari pinches the bridge of her nose, exasperated, while Grant glares at Tory.

Later, Grant is working on a scaled-up industrial air fryer he hastily assembled. It hums ominously, looking more like a death trap than a piece of cooking equipment. Kari keeps her distance from the corpse, while Tory enthusiastically stuffs it into the fryer.

Kari: (arms crossed, disgusted) "I can’t believe we’re actually doing this. This is so wrong."

Tory: (cheerfully) "Come on, Kari! It’s not every day you get to test a myth like this. Think of the science!"

Kari watches in horror as Tory gleefully presses the fryer’s oversized "Start" button.

The fryer roars to life, and within seconds, black smoke begins pouring out of it. A foul smell fills the workshop. Kari backs away, gagging, while Grant frantically checks the controls.

Kari: (shouting over the noise) "What setting did you even use?!"

Tory: (proudly) "Same one I use for fries! Works great every time."

The fryer starts hissing and leaking fluids. Grant panics and scrambles to shut it down.

Grant: (yelling) "It’s overheating! Shut it off!"

Tory: (laughing nervously, fanning the smoke) "Maybe it just needs more time to preheat?"

Suddenly, flames burst from the fryer as it explodes. Alarms blare as the fire spreads to nearby equipment. Kari grabs a fire extinguisher but hesitates, looking at the carnage in disbelief.

Kari: (furious) "This is why we don’t let you plan anything, Tory!"

Grant: (coughing, waving smoke away) "Forget it! We need to evacuate!"

Tory, still holding the fryer’s comically oversized manual, looks genuinely puzzled as the fire spreads and rages around him.

Tory: (to himself) "Maybe I should’ve used the ‘Poultry’ setting…"

The workshop is a smoldering wreck. The camera pans across charred equipment, blackened walls, and a ruined air fryer. Kari sits on a crate, fuming, while Grant inspects the damage with a defeated expression. Tory stands sheepishly in the corner, his clothes covered in soot.

Kari: (glaring at Tory) "I hope you know you’re explaining this to Jamie."

Grant: (dryly) "And the fire department. And probably the FBI."

Tory shrugs, trying to stay upbeat.

Tory: (grinning weakly) "Well…the body is mostly burned up, so...myth confirmed?"

Kari groans and walks off, muttering angrily. The screen fades to black as Grant tries to scrape charred human remains off the floor, smoke still rising in the background.
