Otrēl (pr: ah-treel): a plant growing on twisting stalks that resemble small gravethorn growths but that sprouts long clusters of tiny, black fruits
- these fruits are harvested and can be cooked a multitude of ways
- Ground, mixed with water, an egg and baked yields a coarse bread of sorts
- Boiled, they are a slightly crunchy and yet juicy addition to any meal
- Dried and heated in oil, they explode into delicate blue puffs good for snacking
