Head empty—
Only thoughts are of that very specific flavor of Codywan where Cody doesn’t give two shits about Obi-Wan at first and is mainly concerned with running the GAR and keeping his brothers alive. And it’s not until Obi-Wan proves himself in battle over and over again, shows himself to be someone Cody can trust— both with his brothers’ lives and to take on some of the burden of leadership— that anything starts to change.
For me, its that slow unraveling of Cody’s character from Marshal Commander Cody to just Cody-Cody, feat.Obi-Wan-heart-eyes-Kenobi gobbling up every little crumb of Cody gives him along the way. Cody just being the brightest thing in Obi-Wan’s galaxy and he fell head over heels for him on day-one and he doesn’t actually care one way or another how it all works out— he just knows he’d do everything in his power to make Cody’s life just a little easier, alleviate some of his tension headaches, be one of the few people Cody comes to during those very rare moments when the pressure of everything on his shoulders becomes just too much.
Anyway, just the whole ‘Obi-Wan falls hard and first, while Cody falls slow, reluctantly, and second’ version of Codywan, with trust and competence as their love language, is the top tier version for me.
