It isn't love.
It isn't hate.
It's just indifference.
The one downside of having siblings is if I call them a 'bastard' my sister goes "I'm pretty sure mom and dad were married when they had us" and if I call them a 'son of a bitch' my brother'll say "excuse me our mother is a very nice woman" and "I'm telling her you said that" and I can't win
Basically Lucy went “yeah this guy has a shared dilution w his “””mom””” and he says he can come back from the dead
“Hey so my patient killed himself in front of me today. We held hands
“We have a child but I’m going to kill myself even tho I know what will happen “
The bad thing about loving something as a kid and staying with it or coming back to it is that you see the viciously glaring flaws you never even noticed as a kid
Like Harry Potter, growing up you only see the beauty of magic and friendship and perseverance, but as an adult you can see all the prejudice.
Like Warriors, growing up you just see that it's a hierarchy of cats fighting for survival and building Noble bonds. You see their tradition and their infallible religion. As an adult though you see their religion is a weird and biased farce, and there is really no reason for them to fight and kill each other.
Like Disney movies, as a kid you see the colors and the music and the fun characters, but as an adult you see how messed up a lot of it is and how a lot of the jokes were flatly not jokes for children.
The problem with loving something you grew up with and seeing it as perfect and unquestionable is when you get older and gain experience you begin to see that cracks in the veneer.
The celebrities you love are often problematic in lots of ways. The tv shows you used to enjoy now feel very fake and simple. The toys you always swore you would buy for yourself when you were grown up and had your own money are no longer appealing to you.
And you have to change too, you have to face the darkness of understanding and seeing the flaws in your idols, because if you don't then you can't grow yourself. You stay the child who refuses to look at the bad.
It's a hard thing to do but I'm proud of everyone who can do it. It sucks and its sad to see, but that doesn't mean you can't still love it.
