Plastic Man on the Justice League: Yes or no?
Hm. I say Yes because I like Morrison’s run so much, but no because I probably wouldn’t put him on my personal roster.

What are you watching it on? I totally forgot that I wanted to catch up on it!
yooo watch it! i got most of my roommates into it because i was going crazy about waiting. Hours 1, 3 and 4, are on Netflix. Supergirl is hr 1, Flash is hr 3, and Arrow is hr 4. Batwoman is hr 2, but it’s only online on CW, and Legends of Tomorrow has hr 5, which i don’t have a single fucking clue where to find it because its not on Netlfix yet and its not on the CW anymore. and that is absolute bullshit, but i will figure it out. i NEED to figure it out.
i feel like college me. highly obsessed with a show, a beautiful crossover with beautiful people.
also, if you don’t remember the ELSEWORLDS crossover, highly suggest watching that one first. ELSEWORLDS is all on Netflix. Flash is hour 1, Arrow is hour 2, and Supergirl is hour 3.

Well, shit. Congratulations
Thank you. I’d like to thank my mom for giving birth to me and who’s facial features I apparently inherited. Secondly, I’d like to thank filters for doing some heavy fucking lifting. Filters are the real MVP.

What…is…?
oh man i almost want you to enjoy not knowing but amatonormativity is the idea that society is forcing romantic love down our throats at all times. basically it was conceived as an active force comparable to patriarchy or systemic racism but against aromantic people or whatever. it’s not a real thing

oh thank god someone enabled me
first of all, i’m going to ignore all the doylist stuff. i know the s10 finale and the christmas special aired months apart, i know moffat’s last ep was supposed to be “the doctor falls” and had to write the christmas special last second when chibnall couldn’t do it. i don’t care how the average audience would react to it lmao
okay so. “the doctor falls” is clearly the twelfth doctor’s last real story, the one where he recognizes the inevitability of his death, which leaves the christmas special in some precarious position of “no longer plot-relevant” but also “not yet thirteen.” now i personally am unsure where this whole “doesn’t want to regenerate” thing came from; a response to something the master/missy did? seeing bill as a cyberman? i truly do not know. maybe i missed the seeding in s10, but either the seeding should’ve been more obvious or they should have worked it in better
i honestly do not know why the first doctor is in this. they retconned his regeneration story to work him into this for... no purpose. he showed up to be vaguely misogynistic and then nothing else, which is a horrible introduction to his era for new fans (sure, the 60s were... like that, but not at all that frequently! i’ve talked before about my objection to recasting one at all (here) but also they didn’t use him effectively. honestly cut bill’s role to a cameo, and give it to clara if possible. clara suits that role much better, and bill can have a cameo also somewhere else
the christmas armistice is THE perfect setting for a dw christmas special: a real historical event with an interesting yet bleak setting, just an organic display of human kindness and solidarity. for this story, for this show, it’s perfect! but they waste it. it’s not in the story much at all. and the captain is just the perfect foil for the doctor: someone with no name who desperately wants to live, juxtaposed against someone who desperately wants to die. the doctor could have had the bulk of his development this ep from their conversations, but again... almost none of the story. the captain is hardly in it, except for the name reveal at the end
basically i would have cut a bulk of it out. cut it down to primarily the doctor and the captain, stuck in a time and place neither wants to be in, so exhausted and afraid... but taking hope in what was honestly a miracle of human interaction. it can be a saccharine ending, that seems fitting. the doctor leaves s10 kicking and screaming, so let him spend this episode taking a few deep breaths and coming to terms with his place in the universe, and let him regenerate with peace

I’ve heard DSC get passed around!
That is acceptable. Just...just keep the three letter pattern,

👌 - Best friend?
…it’s complicated. I’m getting closer to accepting that I live a double life and I’ll have to end one soon, my two best friends are in the other life and don’t know about this one. And in this one, I have many friends of varying, inquantifiable levels of adoration, but I can’t pinpoint any one in particular.
